My Jet Black 7+ is a lot more grippy than my iPhone X, so why is my X so slippery that I can't grip it?

I really have no idea. This is how grippy the glass is. Very similar to the jet black.
Are your hands clammy? Try cleaning off the glass and having dry hands. It doesn’t slide much in the hands. I have it almost vertical in the pictures.

I'll try again later, but when I pinched the naked iPhone X's front and back between my thumb and two fingers, holding it over my bed, it slid right out of my fingers onto the bed multiple times. (no sexual innuendo there) Handed it to my wife and she kept dropping it while holding it like making a phone call, same as when i hold it that way.

Same here with the screen protectors yet I’ve managed to have a few micro scratches on the screen already. I had one scratch about a week after I got the X but it isn’t noticeable when the screen is on or not in direct light. It’s so annoying because I take good care of it yet it still scratches :/

It depends on your skin, if you have dry skin it is actually much more slippery but if your skin is hydrated it will ‘stick’ better and also leave more fingerprints.

While the condition of one's skin is relative, glass objectively remains less slippery than aluminum. It's basic science.

For my SG i had originally ordered the red skin but it wasn’t the shade of red that was shown on the website so i put the black leather skin that covers the sides also.

My space gray is fully covered but my silver X only has the back skin

Where did you get it at ?

The back protector that I installed on my X is from an eBay seller named premiumgiant... they sold as a front and back protector pack, but I only needed the back. They shipped and delivered very fast, waited only a few days.

I ordered a second set from another seller on ebay named tizzy-l, and the back protector is practically identical. It took like 10 days to arrive though! The front protector has more coverage that from the previous set in that it also covers the notch but has a cutout for the earpiece (the one from the other set looks just like the Belkin one that Apple installed).


While I love the naked feel, I will note it makes the phone very slippery...maybe more slippery than without it... and the phone is even slipping from my fingers as I hold it at angles.

Yes. And you can wirelessly charge with a case on the iPhone X as well.

Been using my iPhones caseless since the 6plus. Purchased both the white and black X. The black X is less slippery than the white due to the coating on the sides. Returning the white cuz I prefer the black.

Albeit the 1k+ price point, at the end of the day it’s just a smartphone. Just don’t drop it and you’ll be fined naked

The 6/7/8 series are too slippery. I was forced to use a case. For the X, I didn’t use a case until the 2nd week, when the stainless steel band was mysteriously scratched.

So after more than a month of having the iphoneX. I decided to go naked because i have apple care and omg it feels and looks so beautiful!

i figured whats the point in having a case on if i have apple care and apple upgrade program, since they will accept my phone back with some scratches and scuffs next year.

Who else has gone naked and how is your phone holding up?

I did the first few days but frankly didn't trust myself as I'm notoriously clumsy. I got a clear case that doesn't add any bulk and at least means the camera is flush with the back.

Now at least I can use it comfortably without fearfully babying it every time I take it out of my pocket.

Pretty sure, most people going naked have Apple care. If that’s the case, I would too, but personally, I’ll keep $180 in my pocket by going slim case + glass protector instead.

I’m so tempted. I was naked with my Jet Black 7 Plus and it was great. This is slightly more slippery compared to the JB.

I have Apple Care and on the upgrade programme.

Do they take them back with dings etc?

Just like my iPhone 7 Plus before it, my current iPhone X is naked while at home but when going out, is slipped into an Apple case, either the colorful Spicy orange or the festive Product Red, or the black Folio. I do have Apple Care+ on it (have it on iPads, too -- anything which is leaving the house with me on a regular basis).
