Lol, I have an Anker back glass protector on and a front iCarez display protector on and on top of all that is an Otterbox Defender. It’s definitely overkill but the first fifteen minutes I had the phone I nearly dropped it four times because it is so slippery! I thought glass would be more grippy than aluminum.

I do take it out of the OtterBox when I am lying in my nice soft bed and want to read on it or charge it on the charging puck. If I drop it in my bedroom it will be only a two and a half foot drop onto soft carpet with a thick pad. Plus I have all that extra glass on it.

I can’t imagine using this phone without a case at any other time because the back camera lens is on that damned protrusion. The lenses would get beat all to hell if I didn’t have that part protected in a case. As pretty as this phone is, it looks like it was designed to look just as beautiful in a lovely case.

I put a case on mine the second I got it. To me, the iPhone X is just to heavy and I feel like I am going to drop it. I am the of person, that even a little scuff on the corner or the side will drive me insane, so I rather just use a case with it. Screen protector too. Haha. I can’t deal with the micro scratches.

damn hahah I think I am the same. But at the same time I am always questioning my need for the case.
Why is there no option for naked and protection?

Lets start a petition that the next iphone has to be more durable than the cases :D

I usually use my iPhone X with clothes on. Despite its waterproof abilities, I'd rather not use it when I'm taking a shower. :p

Back to the topic, I use Apple's leather case but I suspect it may have caused some scratches along the side of the stainless steel band. But I can't prove it :-|

Haha, so down dude! Ill start getting the signatures! Lol

It’s from dbrand.com black leather skin

Can you still wirelessly charge with the skin on?

And you didn't opt for the camera skin right? I checked the site out and the skins look cool. I am not in love with the idea of having a glass backed phone again. This looks like a great solution.

At home my iPhone X goes naked, but when I'm leaving the house I stick her into the Apple leather folio case. This offers protection on the back and also on the front when the iPhone is in my purse or other bag. I also bought the Apple Product Red silicone case but haven't used it yet. I never just lay my iPhone down, or when I do it is always on a clean, soft surface. I have a couple BlueLounge organizing stands which were meant for iPads but work beautifully for iPhones as well. The plastic protects the glass back from scratches and the device is propped up for easy visibility when I am at the computer or somewhere else. When I am carrying the naked iPhone around the house I hang on to it with a firm grip so that it won't slip out of my hand and land on hardwood or tile floors. Like some others here, I have never used a screen protector on any iPhone ever, and I've had most of them since the very first one. IMHO screen protectors are not necessary and I think that they affect the way the phone feels to the fingers.
Same here with the screen protectors yet I’ve managed to have a few micro scratches on the screen already. I had one scratch about a week after I got the X but it isn’t noticeable when the screen is on or not in direct light. It’s so annoying because I take good care of it yet it still scratches :/

Glass is more grippy than aluminum.
It depends on your skin, if you have dry skin it is actually much more slippery but if your skin is hydrated it will ‘stick’ better and also leave more fingerprints.

I have had my X for over 2 weeks now and I do have a clear case that I have been using before I decide what I want to do. A part of me wants to use the phone without a case because it is too stunning to throwing on something that covers up the shiny edges/back of the device, but on the other hand I don’t have Apple Care and will probably want to resell it in the future. Apple has luckily lowered the price of screen replacements to $279 (without Apple Care) from the original $579 which I can live with. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still expensive, but $279 isn't flat out stupid.
For those of you that have been using the X without a case, how has it been so far? Are there extensive scratches/noticeable dents already?

Thank You!

Comical that they sell you a phone based on the beautiful design and you can not enjoy it because the phone is so damn delicate that it will be broken the first drop (not at all an unlikely scenario).

I have dbrand leather skin for the back and temper glass screen protector on the front
Would that look good with my SG model?

Rocking my naked as well. Returned the Apple leather case I had. Why hide Jonathan Ive’s hard work ? This phone is just too beautiful to hide it. It’s been two weeks going ceaseless with my silver X, little micro scratches if I really try to look, but you can’t tell in the naked eye, I’m ok with that.
Any on the glass back panel itself?

I'm rocking my X naked, just like I've done with every iPhone since the 4. I remember occasionally using a case on my 3G and 3GS, but by the time I got to the 4S I decided to just skip it entirely and enjoy the phones' design ... my X does have two hairline scratches on the screen; I got them when the phone was about three hours old - my wife accidentally dragged it across the floor, face-down, while trying to straighten up the bed (the extra long cable was tangled on something, and she pulled it, not realizing the phone was attached. Lol) ... But whatever. It's just a phone, and a gorgeous one at that!

I usually dont prefer cases, but looking at the sky high repair costs for the X and glass all around, I had to go for a UAG Plasma case. Aluminium chips and dings, but glass shatters.

What about those guys with their naked iPhone X on an upgrade plan? What if you plan to upgrade next year but the phone will have scratches. Won’t those folks have to pay for wear and tear?

A wireless charging pad may help :p

That's a great idea, especially with the lens size (even with a case with a small lip). Which one did you use? (I see some are bundled with a screen/rear protector ... the standalone options aren't reviewed very well).

Here are some pics. Glass back on both. First two when I just installed back glass on X, no glass lens cover. Rest taken today

This phone feels better in the hand and has more grip without a case than any of my 5 iPhones since the 3G.

Every once and a while I will rock out with its wee notch out.

The glass and steel feel amazing and much better than using a case on a daily basis .

But had a ton of spills with my iPhone 6s Plus, and it was well protected by my apple leather cases.

I am afraid to risk it honestly and save whipping it out in the buff for special occasions.

No scratches on the back whatsoever yet. But that dbrand caught my attention though lol.

Where did you get it at ?

Mine is almost naked. I went to an Apple store and had them use their machine to put on a screen protector but that is it. I don’t have a case on it yet. I’m still debating if I want one. What’s the point of picking one of the two colors if you cover it up with a case?

My thoughts exactly. The color of the iPhone is the only first part somebody chooses before purchasing, and if they apply case, the color is ultimately negated.
