Desperately hoping to have "pause music during guidance" feature, like just about every other GPS app on the iPhone.

Didn't say it doesn't work, and I still enjoy the app. It is a solid app, but a bit too sluggish for me to give it a 5 star rating. Still my preferred navigation app however, and I'm looking forward to the new update.

In regards to the 3G being an older phone, and Navigon being a "newer" app, I still believe if they cleaned up the code a bit, it could run better on the 3G. Laziness on the part of the dev? Who knows. Considering it's the only app I run, including a previous install of Tomtom, that takes literally seconds between "button" presses, I find it hard to believe it's the phone.

And...I never said it didn't work either. ;) But, I doubt 'code optimization' for the 3G is gonna happen. They are too busy adding in better features.

Oh, I'm sure it's faster on the 3GS, and yeah, I wouldn't mind having one, but eh, there are more important things to spend money on then phone upgrades every year. You know, house, cars, kids college etc. etc. ;)

Ain't that the truth! Got a 5 yo and 7 yo outgrowing clothes like weeds growing in a field. I'm just shooting myself for missing the $49 upgrade to 3Gs over the past weekend. But Santa visiting this year is more for them and not me

LOL, I know exactly where you are coming from! (7 year old, and a 1 year old, who both outgrow stuff like eh, it was REALLY coming from Santa for free)! :D

Yeah, I should have to buy a new phone just to get an app to run properly.

Same goes for some desktop applications. Or vista / windows 7. It is a fact of life. Your 3G won't last for ever just like a computer won't.

Can someone provide an example how you will use Navigon with the new Google integration? Thanks!

The idea would be that you could search for something like Pizza Hut it would then list the ones close by you pick it and it takes you to it. Of coarse I have not used 1.4 yet. But thats the idea. Currently you need to have the address of the pizza hut to have navigon get you too it.

This update just about seals it for me. Adding Google Local Search was brilliant, since I had already been using that to find POIs wherever I happen to be, and now I can do with within Navigon. It definitely makes up for their otherwise small POI database.

And including geographical coordinates tells me they've been listening to feedback. That's the one thing I wanted (for geocaching) and had emailed them about it before. Pretty much makes up for the lack of a manual. :D

i think navigon has the best looking maps and UI... look at there new units in europe the 7310 and 8450. Wow!

Gorgeous. I wish we had those in the US! Sigh. Anyways I would like to see voice features and instead of calculating 1 map, to do 3 different routes that we can choose from like in their new updated units.

Also some refinements to the GUI to make it look like their new units would be awesome!

Navigon is simply the best one out by far.

Navigon facebook site shows features from their new units - wonder if these are the other features. Has Clever Parking, Last Mile, MyRoutes and E-Compass in addition to pedestrian GPS. Would be nice additions.

I'm asking the same question about the EU edition

Yea Apple's slow process doesn't make sense. With big item purchases like Navigon, Apple almost guarantees consumers will be locked into iPhones for future purchases (If you drop $100+ on Apps, you don't want to repeat for another phone). By being so slow in approving apps, I think they are doing more harm then good.

As someone suggested elsewhere, Apple needs to implement a "fast track" for established companies and just do random spot checks to ensure the applications meet standards..

Just a heads up to those with slow connections. I downloaded the update and received 1.3. You may want to wait until the release date Apple put (12/17) to download, because you're probably going to get 1.3.

I'm attempting the download again. Only another 30 minutes...

That doesn't surprise me at all. App updates/downloads from iTunes and via iPhone have been totally fubar for at least the past week. I wish Apple would fix it.

I got 1.3 as well.

Not sure this is really 1.4, because when I select the item it indicates 1.3. At least for me it does... With all the issues with updates being messed up, I'm not entirely sure..

Mine is downloading will be done in less then 20 minutes. I will report back once I know if its 1.4 or 1.3

Dammit. Mine downloaded and the file on my computer is:

NAVIGON 1.3 1.ipa
