Navigon 1.4

Downloaded a second time and still got 1.3. Going to have to wait this one out until after midnight. Apple really needs to fix this bug!

I've emailed iTunes support complaining about the download bug and to say I'm suspending all iTunes Store purchases until they fix the bug.

... downloading now, but afraid it might be v1.3 since the size of v1.4 says 1.46GB before download and the downloading file is 1.47GB which is same size as v1.3 ... we'll see

Hmmm...is it going on sale too? on my 3GS when I go to App Store>Categories>Navigation, and scroll down to the Navigon app (must be like 27th or 28th in the list) it shows a price of $59.99!

When I use Google Local Search and search for places in current location, it just shows "no POI nearby found, but when I input "Sunnyvale" or a address the Where field it search nearby location fine.. Has anyone else experience this?

Mine's now 1.4 and has the Google search. Works MUCH better than the integrated POI list. However, a few local ones that I selected are way off...like more than a mile. I think it's Google's fault though because in the iPhone Maps app, it comes up in the same wrong location (Home Depot, Crystal Lake, IL).

Apple really need to fix there update servers, I have been getting updates problem at random, when I first download the 1.4 update, it didn't downloaded and was still 1.3, but on the 2nd try I downloaded it fine.

within the app, I don't see Podcasts showing up (needs to be added) ... but you can begin a podcast outside app, then start Navigon up and use navigation - podcast continues to play and that Podcast is controllable w/in app

while you are navigating a route, go to "Options" then "Turn-by-Turn List"

works in "Route Planning" mode too

i guess maybe you have to actually be on your route and moving. Im inside, and i was just trying to mess around with the new version.

OK, got 1.4. Here are a few impressions:

1. Start-up does not seem faster ('Navigon' splash screen to actually using functions)

2. GPS availability is definitely faster (presumably because it is now utilizing triangulation initially instead of waiting for a true GPS lock)

3. The app seems less responsive. I tap on an item and it highlights and then a second later is actually selected. I've got a 3GS and did not have this problem with 1.3.

4. Having Google Local is a killer feature
