Two California store to open June 9th

The Fashion Fair store in Fresno and the Higuera Street store in San Luis Obispo will open this weekend, June 9th - both at 10:00 am. The regular giveaways apply.

Apple store is coming to Oxmoor in August

Kentuckians who want to buy an iPhone at an Apple retail store will have to either visit another state or wait until the end of the summer.

The state's first Apple store, planned for Oxmoor Center on Shelbyville Road, is under construction but won't be finished by Friday's launch of the iPhone. The stores also sell iPod music players and Macintosh computers, software and accessories, and offer a full range of training and repair services for other Apple products.

Officials at Oxmoor Center, which is owned by General Growth Properties, have been working for several years to land a coveted Apple retail outlet for Louisville.

"Apple is going to be a tremendous traffic generator for us," said Lisa Cofer, senior marketing manager for Oxmoor Center and nearby Mall St. Matthews. "It is a destination store."

The Apple store will have about 5,000 square feet of space, Cofer said, and it is expected to open in August. It will be in the Macy's wing of the mall, in a slot formerly occupied by Kirkland's Home and across from Eddie Bauer.

"Glasgow Store Construction On-Track
Thanks to Martin for the photo of construction work on the future Buchanan Street (Glasgow, Scotland) retail store. The interior structure of the store has been reconstructed, and it appears the flooring has been put in and then covered with wood. However, the electrical and other work work is still in-progress on both the lower and upper mezzanine levels. Based on the construction and other information, the store could open before the end of this year."

Here are the official notices from Apple of the Bayshore and Woodland Hills store openings. The first is located in Glendale, Wisconsin and the second is in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Both will open on June 29th at 6:00 pm to coincide with the release of the iPhone. The usual giveaways apply.

Fresh off its launch of iPhone sales, Apple Inc. intends to expand business in Hawai'i with plans for a store in Waikiki that would be the company's third retail outlet in the state.

Apple recently applied for a building permit to construct a store at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, which is slated to finish an $84 million renovation in December that is adding major new retailers and restaurants to Waikiki's largest mall.

The expansion plan would give the California-based manufacturer of Macintosh computers and other devices like the iPod media player perhaps its highest profile store in Hawai'i in a location visited by many of the state's 7 million annual visitors....

It's been about a year since it was first rumored, but is there any more information on an Apple Store in Charleston, SC?

Or Haywood Mall in Greenville?

Or anyplace in SC?
 
Deer Park, IL Store Construction Progressing

Construction on the Apple Store at the Deer Park Town Center in Deer Park, IL proceeds apace. I'm hoping it's open before the release of Leopard in October!

Holyoke Mall (Mass) opening

The Holyoke Mall Apple Store in Western Mass is opening on July 21.

How do the prize give aways usually work at grand openings and what kind of products do they give away?
 
Three openings on 7/21 and more

I've been away for a while, so in hopes of catching up here are the announcements of Apple's retail openings this weekend - Orland Square in Orland Park, Illinois; Briarwood in Ann Arbor, Michigan; and the previously mentioned opening of the Holyoke store in Holyoke, Massachusetts. All stores are scheduled to open at 10 am on July 21st and will have the usual giveaways to the first 1,000 people.

Also, there is an announcement by the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut that there will be an Apple store in the MGM Grand expansion.

An Apple Store will be part of the MGM Grand expansion opening in May at Foxwoods Resort Casino, casino officials announced Wednesday

The casino recently began a promotion to give away a new Apple iPhone every 10 minutes between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Labor Day.

An Apple kiosk will open this fall in the existing casino's retail area. When the MGM Grand expansion opens, it will become the only Apple store in Eastern Connecticut. The two closest locations to the region now are Farmington and Providence, R.I.

Lakeside Store Location ID’d In UK Mall

The location of the future Lakeside Shopping Centre (UK) Apple store has been identified as the 5,000 square-feet that retailer Woolworths just relinquished after a downsizing. Apple will officially occupy space #245 on the second level, the left portion of the former Woolworth space, and adjacent to Carphone Warehouse. The trademark black construction barricade has just gone up, and the store could be ready by the holiday shopping season.
