Run this in Bootcamp!

If you run the updater in a VM, it may leave out some driver updates. In my case, the ATI X1600 driver didn't get updated until I re-ran in Bootcamp.

Also, at least in my case, SP3 installed over SP2 & Leopard Bootcamp drivers fine (in VM) and booted fine in Bootcamp before these driver updates were installed. YMMV.

Odd, I've got XP SP3 running on an iMac 7,1 at work using Bootcamp 2.0 with no issues.

Had alittle scare after installing but everything seems fine now. For some reason it didnt install any drivers for the video card, so I was running the generic VGA controller until I dl'ed he most recent one from laptop2go. When installing the driver, it got stuck on a black screen, and I had to do a hard reboot. After restarting, it went back to the black screen again, but on the third restart its working now.

of note....

typically Apple releases Boot Camp updates after they upgrade an existing machine.... (ie: iMac, Macbook, MacPro, etc). So with an impending iMac update in the coming days, could this update contains new drivers for the soon to be released iMacs? i suspect so.

Does trackpad tapping (especially two-finger tap) work in Windows now? I swear, that's the thing that pisses me off the most about the Boot Camp drivers right now.

*crosses fingers*

Hmm I have a question, what happen when you manually upgrade your Nvidia drivers for your Windows BootCamp? Will it affect the Mac version?

I have a question : do you recommend installing windows xp on a mac or vista? What one is more secure and more stable?

In before the hate comments.

I use Vista on my MBP and love it. Do a bit of research to make sure that any programs you're using doesn't have any problems with Vista. If you already have XP, then it may not be worth it for you to buy Vista, but if you're in the market for a new OS, then I don't see much of a reason to spend money on a 7 year old OS unless you'll have problems with Vista.

I use vista 32 bit version. I tried to upgrade with "BCUpdatevista32" but it did not launch. The .exe file just don't open for some reasons. I don't know why.

Ok, what the hell is going on with my Software Update lately? Haven't gotten any of the MBP EFI updates and I don't see this either. Could something be corrupt, anyone know?

I would like to see the numbers of people using boot camp vs. Parallels.

I used boot camp a few times for fun, but I actually USE Parallels to run 1 PC app that is essential to my business.

/edit... and I am not saying that the are the same product doing the same thing. I know the differences and the value of each one in how they do similar jobs differently... /edit
