New iMac order people, when are your macs arriving and when can we expect tear downs?

as per the title, if you’ve ordered a new iMac, when is it coming?

Also when can we expect to start seeing tear downs, cpu benchmarks and testing on the thermals?

Anyone have any info?

So I’m a newbie to this site, but I’ve been reading here for months. I had planned on getting a new computer for my birthday for casual family usage. My birthday was 3/19! I ordered the new iMac that day (I had been waiting since I knew the iMac was due for a refresh). However, after reading a thread about the different specs for educators (I’m a teacher), I realized it didn’t make sense to go with the configuration I had: 27 base CPU with extra 8gb of RAM and 512 SSD. So I canceled the order and got the 27inch high end with i5 processor and 580 GPU. I hope it’s not hot. The only gaming we might do is the City Skylines since I was a big fan of the SimCity line. Based on specs, it should be able to run that. The price tag was already high so I can’t justify the additional GPU for a home computer. My previous computer is a 2010 13 inch MacBook PRO. I wanted to get another laptop, but these specs are much better for the price and I hardly ever move my computer.

The bummer is that the new delivery date is April 4-8, and my original date was April 1-3. I’m so sad I have to wait even longer. I’m hoping Apple might ship it sooner but we will see.
 
April 1-3 for me and it is preparing to ship. Mine is a BTO. Stock configs should be arriving this week, as soon as Tuesday according to Apple’s estimated dates.

anyone know what day you can actually just walk into an apple store and buy one?
 
Mine has shipped via UPS*. Will be here Wednesday.

* Order Status hasn't changed to shipped, but it has popped up on UPS MyChoice for me.

Ordered afternoon of the day they were announced, 3/19. BTO specs in signature (adding 32GB RAM myself). Currently “preparing for shipment” with delivery April 1-3.
 
Just received tracking info from UPS, showing both my iMac and AirPods 2 will be here this Thursday the 28th! Not sure if mine got bumped up to ship with the AirPods or regardless, but I’ll take it! I was already going to be taking some time off of work this week.

Ugh so jealous. Mine is still in processing with a message saying it will take longer to ship than usual. Dates still say 4/4-4-8. Dates ok cancelled order were 4/1-4/3. Wish I could get those back, but the solid state drive and better processor are worth the wait I guess.

My 3/20 order confirmation for 27” said Apr 2-4 but I received a UPS confirmation this morning for 3/27 delivery.

UPDATE - pushed back to 3/28

Guess mine missed the cutoff and was rescheduled for Thursday. Couldn't do a Thursday delivery, and had to reschedule it for the 1st. :(
 
First time ordering.. used a friend and family discount and decided to pick up in store instead of shipped to house. Are these deliveries normally slower that shipping direct ? Apple store is on my way home from work so figure as soon as I get notified it there I’ll be on my way.
 
Yay! My status just changed. They said they’re completing some final details before shipping and they’ll let me know when it ships.
 
I ordered last week (BTO) and I should be able to pick it up 3/27 (original estimate was 4/3)

Yes. FWIW: I ordered a similar iMac (but different processor) a couple days prior and did not have that message. (I;m returning that first order...changed my mind...again).
