New iMacs Shipping?

Mine is also shipping from the Czech Republic, but since when did Apple stop using China? My last 2 machines where both shipped from China.

Doh, so my "Estimated" date as given on the Apple site is a complete no hoper, given it says 8 May, but it hasn't shipped yet. (Identical spec to yours)
 
Maybe its because you added a free printer? I added the printer and it added 1 week to the delivery date so i removed it from the order! Just got a new printer in Jan so didn't need it anyway. :D
 
My iMac 3.06Ghz with 4GB RAM upgrade shipped yesterday afternoon from UNION CITY, CA. It's expected to arrive on May 5 by 7pm via FedEx 2nd day Air... sigh, no Saturday delivery.

I ordered it on Monday.

4GB? Why not just ordered one 2GB RAM module? I read that Apple uses 1x2GB as standard.
 
Yes, I think we in the UK have been shafted. Consistently missed shipment dates, even ones provided as a result of direct enquiries to the factory.

Not sure who's running the subcalibre operation in the Czech Republic but I expected better from the Apple Store.
 
I ordered one with additional memory on Tuesday afternoon and it shipped Tuesday night. In fact it shipped before the printer did...
 
I ordered the 3.06 24" but added 4GB RAM on Monday (4-28), with 2-3 day shipping. Came this afternoon. :D
 
So how is the 3.06? What did you upgrade from? What do you use it for, and how does it compare to your previous computer? I'm trying to decide if I should ditch my Mac Pro Quad core 3 GHz and get back to an iMac. I wonder what, if anything, I'd be really giving up. Love the new iMacs!
 
just ordered a basic 24" 3.06GHz iMac tonight with the wireless package! :apple:

Ships by: May 5 - May 7
Delivers by: May 7 - May 13

I hope it's sooner rather than later... :)
 
I ordered mine the day the new models came out and had them add extra RAM. It shipped yesterday, though will take a few days to arrive as I had it send standard shipping.

I'm also in an apt in Brooklyn; same situation as someone else who wrote in. I put a note on the door asking UPS to leave it with my next door neighbor. Is there a neighbor who can sign and keep it for you until you get home?

I didn't order the printer, was tempted, but didn't really need more stuff cluttering up the place.

We don't have Fed-Ex here, and we have no shipping options. I'd have got the fastest possible if there were options, but there weren't. (Uk remember)

But like I say, I'm not really complaining, my order told me it'd take this long (longer in fact, its currently estimating the 13th which is still sooner than originally predicted) so the apple store have never lied to me, just weird it is so slow. I wish the tracking actually worked. Just being told its shipping is rather pointless, I want to know where it is. :)

I'm in the UK too (Newcastle), Mine is being sent with UPS. My iMac is currently in Germany according to the UPS tracking. I ordered the 3.06 with the HDD upgrade to 750GB on Monday and its always said due to arrive on the 8th or before.
 
Mine was supposed to ship May 2... well, it's still May 3 and it's still on 'Prepared for Shipment'. Someone forgot my box? :D
 
Ordered my 24" 3.06 iMac on Tuesday April 29 in the evening, BTO with 1TB HD and 4GB of RAM from the Education Store. Shipped May 2 in the afternoon from RANCHO CORDOVA, CA and expected delivery is on Tuesday May 6 before noon here in Canada via FedEx.

I didn't pay extra for shipping, noticed on my last few orders from Apple that even with free shipping things still get sent FedEx and arrive very quickly.

My 3.06Ghz iMac is actually ~15 miles from my house, but FedEx decides to delivery on Monday.

Upgraded from a dual 2.0Ghz PowerMac G5 with 2.5Ghz of RAM, total of 900GB of storage, 256MB Radeon X800 XT Mac edition graphics card, and 17-inch Apple Studio Display.

Honestly, I want to quiet Mac and huge display. Bought the iMac Rev. A and Rev. D before, now I'm back to the iMac-land. 3Ghz is hard to skip.

I planed to put Leopard Server on the G5 afterwards just to play with it.

I would keep the Mac Pro if I were you.
 
Ordered Monday, estimated shipping Thursday, still "prepared for shipment", estimated delivery 9-12 May. Bubbletrumps.
 
i have an update on mine

ordered tuesday evening. shipped on friday evening from CA. estimated arrival next wednesday (i'm in CO). it was in the "prepared for shipment" stage since noon on friday until i checked it this morning. (saturday)

I'll probably be at work on the delivery day - does anyone know if i'll be able to pick it up from the local FedEx branch that day or the next day, or will they just keep attempting delivery? I don't want to presign the release form b/c i live in an apt complex and don't trust the office staff to "handle with care" =/

how well are the imacs packed or protected against small bumps and falls?

How do you know its with UPS??? My apple order doesn't tell me who my shipper is. It just gives me a reference number on the left hand side 80xxxxxxxx format, and an order number W8xxxxxxx format.
I've tried both those codes in every UK distributer tracking system I can think of to no avail.
Under "carrier tracking number" and "assigned carrier" it just says "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly" and has done since it shipped, makes me worried it hasn't really shipped at all.
I ordered the exact same machine and upgrade at 13:42 on the 28th except also with wireless KB and mouse. My email said on or before 9th, but apple order status says 12th.
