How do you know its with UPS??? My apple order doesn't tell me who my shipper is. It just gives me a reference number on the left hand side 80xxxxxxxx format, and an order number W8xxxxxxx format.
I've tried both those codes in every UK distributer tracking system I can think of to no avail.
Under "carrier tracking number" and "assigned carrier" it just says "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly" and has done since it shipped, makes me worried it hasn't really shipped at all.
I ordered the exact same machine and upgrade at 13:42 on the 28th except also with wireless KB and mouse. My email said on or before 9th, but apple order status says 12th.

Because the order ref changed to the UPS tracking ref. This happened after I received the e-mail from Apple to say it had been shipped. The 'Delivery Status' widget is great for tracking the order :D

Mine just shipped, two days late, and now the estimated delivery is the 14th. Mohhhh, want it now!

Still no update on my package tracking, even though it still says it will arrive today. Kinda sucks! At least FedEx usually comes around my apartments in the morning. Meaning they have about two hours before I figure they're bunk and toying with my fragile heart. *nods*

Now you're really worrying me. I had the "Your apple order has been shipped" email on the 30th, but still no reference for tracking or telling me who the delivery service is. I hope my order isn't messed up and delayed somehow. I would have though that it was sitting right next to your iMac in germany tbh.

Maybe they are using another courier for you that doesn't have an order tracking facility. I'd give them a call with your order ref and ask them, maybe they just forgot to update your order status.

Yeah, maybe I will. I seem to remember my iPod Touch never showing a tracking reference, so maybe they use a different delivery team for the south west. TNT perhaps.
I'll have to wait till monday to call anyway as lines closed now. Ah well, I'm sure its fine, its just annoying not knowing as much as I can! :D

EDIT: Ok, this is weird, I used the delivery status widget as you mentioned, selecting the apple store and using my order reference. When I click the apple logo on the widget it loads my order in the US store and shows me more info than the UK one! It says under "shipping method" "Merge in Transit GB" no idea what that means. It also says "Shipped on: Apr 30, 2008 via Syncreon Technology" above my iMac and "Shipped on: Apr 30, 2008 via Merge in Transit GB" above my iPod dock (which I added to the order) and gives me a really long tracking number: WW0000018xxxxxxxxxxx which when clicked takes me to the same shipment status order page I'm used to from the UK apple store.
Very very weird.
Did a quick google for "Syncreon Technology" and found some others on this very forum discussing the weirdness of the same situation a year or so ago, no conclusion though.
Something tells me adding the iPod dock was a bad idea and they've shipped them separately (perhaps from different locations) with orders for the two shippments to meet up in the UK before being sent to me. Wish I hadn't added it now, only saved £2.50 with my apple discount compared to a local reseller! I'd happily of paid £2.50 more to get it on the 9th rather than the 12th/13th. Thats the most sense I can make from it all, and seems rather stupid. *sigh* Stupid ipod dock. Also seems silly I only know this from that widget sending me to the US store, why couldn't the UK store have told me this days ago! Nonsense.

Try logging on to the US store and checking your order that way. For some reason it has more information than that UK store.

It will give you a long number beginning beginning with 1Z. Type that number into Google and it will give you the status of your repair.

I just checked, mines in Nurnburg, Germany!

I didn't know that adding the free printer will add to the time... I already have a printer, I was just being greedy. I'll probably give it to a friend or give it free with my iMac G5 I'm selling on eBay.

As posted, I tried the US site, but get a tracking number like this: WW0000018xxxxxxxxxxx which seems to be nothing.
I didn't order the printer out of fear of it delaying my order, foolishing ordering an ipod dock which delayed it anyway! I am great with the sillyness.
Odd though that you've ordered two things but have a proper tracking number, I suppose they must have come from the same site so are not pointlessly "meeting" somewhere in the UK before being sent to me. (why can't they just meet in my house!!! :p )

I had an estimated delivery date of May 2, but it's been "in shipment" in Winnipeg (AB Canada) for three days now. The estimated delivery date has now been blanked out as of today.

Hhm, I get conflicting information: the 'Delivery Status' widget tells me that the status is 'shipped' and delivery will be at the 15th of May, whereas when I click on the Tracking Number on the Apple page, it tells me that the estimated delivery is on the 10th. However, there is not yet a carrier or carrier tracking number assinged...

I ordered BTO iMac (24" 2.8 with upgraded GPU) on April 28th. Apple said it would ship between April 29th and May 1st. It actually shipping early morning on May 2nd.

The estimated delivery date from FedEx is May 7th, but it's been listed as "In transit" from Reno, NV for over 3 days now :(

For someone who checks the status almost every hour this is killing me!

HOLY CRAP! Same here! I ordered my 2.8 with upgraded gfx card on April 30th and it is also supposed to get here May 7th. What's weird is that it didn't update that it was in transit from Reno, NV until this morning, even though the update has the date of May 3rd. Why did it take so long for that bit of information to show up in their system? And yes, we both suffer from the package tracker syndrome:

signature required? pick-up option?

If I'm not at home when they attempt delivery, would I be able to pick up the package from the fedex location that same evening? Or would it still be on the delivery truck until closing time?

Orrrrr would I have to fill out a form saying "I will pick up the package" so the delivery guy will see the form on the 2nd attempted delivery?

I don't want to pre-sign b/c i live in an apt complex

My iMac has just arrived in Brussels, Belgium, so not too far from it's destination in London. At this rate my iMac would have been to more places in Europe than me!

Apple's site says the iMac will be delivered on the 7th, but UPS' website says the 8th. I hope Apple's site is right!

Mine STILL freaking says it's moving from Sacramento. Does it really take that long to get to Texas? Friday-Monday? I really should have just bought from the store at this rate.

"In Transit" now. God I hate FedEx. Love for UPS. >.<

To be honest I hear people complaining about whichever postal service Apple use, whether it be FedEx or UPS.

On a positive note, my iMac just left Brussels after arriving there just 2 and a half hours ago... I guess it didn't like Belgium much?

It's almost home... :)

You're right, admittedly I'm being impatient, but for it to be sitting in a ware house less than an hour away as of the 3rd kind of bothers me. I'm in Dallas, which is literally visible on the horizon.
