I almost went for the Pro today but held off given that it's 13 months old and much dearer than the iPad 2017.

I had the money but sense won out.

Back here on Monday for an invite? ;)

You bet! I can totally get behind and be excited by the thought that it won't come out on Good Friday but the following Monday and that tomorrow is the day the news will go out and that there will be much good cheer and laughing all around. Huzzah! Whatever the next plausible scenario is after that I'll be behind that one as well. Soon we will be filled with thoughts of events happening in June instead. By then June won't be so far away after all. I mean if I get really frustrated I can always just pick up a Mini and play with that and my iPad Air 2 is working like a champ although I'm really really itching for the Pro and a Pen. I was playing with that in the BX just yesterday, it's wonderful but I'm a 2.0 kind of guy so I'll wait.

I have the 12.9 pro and I think it's a beast of a machine. What are some things that you all or wanting on an updated one? Other then them adding true tone display for the 12.9 I don't have a want to upgrade.

Compared to when the 9.7" launched I guess the main difference was true tone? I think we're all waiting for a likely redeseign at this point.

I agree though, the current Pros feel amazing as they are.

iPad Pro 12.9 ship times have slipped again from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 with May 4th delivery mabye this means something is comeing ....

Nevermind. I ordered too fast and forgot to read the fine print. Damn Apple has me all loopy! Managed to cancel right away. Still happy with my 12.9 Pro! :D

It's not the iPad Pro... it's just the 2017 iPad.
I knew it was to good to be true, although i still wouldn't have bought one as I'm dead set on waiting for the new models. I'm very excited for the refinements the Pro will bring but nothing i have to have right now.

How does your Pro battery do, can it get you through a day, what's your day look like with it?

As much as I admire your boundless optimism Gobikerider I've given in and pulled the trigger on the mini 4....happy to be proved wrong(preferably within the 14 day period I might add)

I already have the Pro 12.9, it's fantastic, sound quality is so good.......I was hoping a mini pro might pop up(despite zero evidence admittedly)I know I'm not gonna be happy with the speakers on it after the pro but I want a more portable iPad too

No offence but that article is ridiculous, "according to reports", what reports?, the ones they pulled out their ass thats what reports......there is more chance of a 27 inch iPad pro than what they're suggesting, could there a hybrid iPad/mac some day? I would think so, there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that day is coming anytime soon though, not by a long shot

I agree with what you're saying Table Top Joe. All I was saying was it was an interesting prospect if there is any truth in it, that's all. Apple have said the iPad is a laptop alternative, or words similar, so who knows. Highly unlikely I agree.

When I used the 12.9" for a short period of time, I absolutely loved it but also felt compelled to pick up a mini 4 to compliment it for more casual use and reading books. I kind of settled on the using the 9.7" for everything, but many times I find myself wanting both a larger screen and a smaller one.

I'm sure it is a laptop replacement for a lot of people (if my Dad had one he would consider it to be as good as his laptop no question), it certainly isn't a laptop replacement for me(much as I love my pro), this is just Apple marketing......but regardless, the article is clearly completely made up

I'll say this though, if apple ever do make their own version of the surface count me in, count me in big time

Ill be honest with you, I was very close to sending my 12.9 back and holding onto the Air 2 instead, took me a good 3 or 4 days to love the 12.9(the waste of screen space with the blown up apps was actually incredibly irritating at first)

Thats actually mainly what I want the Mini 4 for, books and portability, Ill be using the 12.9 most of the time though, once you get used to watching movies on that screen you won't want to go any smaller, one bit of advice id give anyone getting the 12.9 is get a good case for it thats gonna make it comfortable to use, it can become quite awkward and unwieldy I find when its naked

Its not as fancy as the Apple one but its very versatile and makes the iPad so much easier to use imo, can't recommend it enough

I have come across some credible information which indicates that there will be an iPad launch on April 14th.

Do not ask for my source or any proof I will not divulge that information as it will cause issues for me.

You can choose to believe it or not up to you and ultimately we will find out if its true in a couple of days.
Has anything changed on your side? The reason I ask is that invites go out usually 8-10 days before, and we haven't seen those yet.

Thanks,

Jeffy

EDIT: For clarity, I'm not calling you out as others are. I do believe that your OP was based on evidence that you had at the time. I'm just wondering if things had changed on your end.
