Lol, glad I upgraded to the Pro 9.7 upon release. Can't imagine how frustrating the wait would've been otherwise. :)

It's the 12.9 Pro I'm holding out for. Given I just updated my dad's iPad 3 to the 2017 model (which I borrow to run benchmarks, etc), the itch to get a new gadget has been sated somewhat. At least enough to wait until Fall 2017. ;)
Yah but that A9 is going on 1+ years old it's so boring now

A joke. A 'witty' joke.
I figured just checking

Hmm I was going to pull the trigger tommrow but it looks like I'll hold out as a May-June timeframe is still expected by analysts, regardless of the naysayers claiming Fall.
I'm in no big hurry myself. My iPad Air 2 is great, I picked up a Mini for the heck of it the other day and will wait for the updated iPad Pro 2 for the pencil and all around upgrade. I want to explore the pencil and doing artwork on it but I don't need it need it so I can wait as long as it takes. Watching the Apple news these last few weeks it is fascinating how Apple seems to have something come up that's newsworthy almost every day and then the rumors fill up the other days.

calling it now invites go out tommorow

I am loving my iPad Pro 9.7! I got the Apple Pencil and the Logitech CREATE keyboard. I wanted something that was back-lit and so the Apple Smart Keyboard didn't meet my needs. I don't think I'll regret my purchase even when new iPads come out. I looked at the 12.9, but that is just too big for taking between work and home and reading in bed.

Still a new toy and it's interesting to study effects of display resolution on performance. :p

And to be honest, after getting the iPhone 7, the Pro 9.7 with A9X hasn't been feeling all that snappy, either. Hence, hard to settle for A9X on 12.9" 2732 x 2048.

Wait really, ugh my iPhone 7 would make the Pro seem slow then, grrr thanks for the heads up although other then gaming, I'm not sure it's that different Edit I did some basic math, the Pro has 4 million extra pixels to push around while offering only 25% more graphic compute ability according to Geekbench. Uhm that sucks

A good summing up of the rumors up to the end of March and where they were from is here. Digitimes and MacRumors are mentioned http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/ipad/ipad-pro-2-latest-rumours-uk-3492180/

Digitimes has has an extremely sketchy track record. MacRumors reports them regularly, but they do not have a lot of substantiality. Also, "Analysts" can say anything they want based off any predictions without having ANY factual evidence, and it means nothing. Analysts is nothing more than mudslinging and seeing what sticks to the wall versus having any type of direct source with parts suppliers or inside connections with manufacturers.

Gobikerider, a June iPad release will not happen. Not with WWDC in the midst of everything. Hardware during that time frame has become a rarity with Apple, if at all. Your chances are better with May, otherwise, I Believe it will be Fall if nothing happens between these two months. April is quickly approaching the middle of the month, with NO indication of any new iPads to be released.

The story just went national!!!

Keep faith, everyone. OP still has until tomorrow to prove he wasn't lying. People don't just go on the internet and lie. :D

There are some who are holding out for 1st week in May and they are pointing to the 2-3 week ship dates from Apple.com. That is more reasonable logic than going by anonymous rumors.

Agreed. That's the only real bit of reasoning that could point to an upcoming release. But I find it also strange how the 2-3 week ship date has been continuously moving for the past few weeks. At one point it was mid/late April. Not it's early May. I wonder.

You know honestly someone can be wrong as to the speculated meaning of some information and not be lying. I think it's perfectly reasonable that somebody was told to expect some items to be shipped in a few weeks ago. Combine that with the other bits of information floating around and you get 'speculation'. There was that bit about four 'devices' being tested as I recall. https://techcrunch.com/2017/03/13/new-ipad-models-being-tested-around-cupertino-logs-show/ That was really the most persuasive hint that I remember. We know what one of those devices was - that new/old ipad that's been released. Where are the other 3 now? To be announced whenever. We can all agree that something might be coming. Sometime. In the future. Possibly tomorrow, possibly next week. Probably eventually.
