Eh I don't think so as I honestly think the 9.7 inch will disappear and the 10.5 inch will become the entry level $600 iPad Pro. I mean that would make since the 10.5 inch will be identical in size to the 9.7 in terms of area so what point would they have in keeping the traditional 9.7 other than a budget model at $500. I don't think Apple wants to keep the older iPad Pro models as lower costs options in order to have very clear cut iPad models for specific people.
The "budget model" is the 330 dollar iPad not a 500 dollar iPad Pro :p I mean it makes sense keeping the 9.7 pro at 500 because then it's only a 270 disparity instead of a 370 disparity between the budget and the next step up.

Looking at different signs out they all point to a close release: not a single telecom or retailer have the 12.9 (Verizon, at&t, target, etc) they do have the 9.7, is that normal? Also, the number of new iPad Pro identifiers spotted by Fiksu march is about the number they see a month before release. Apple has discounted the iPad Pro in November , they usually do that 6 months before product updates.

I was at the Apple Store trying to understand from them what's going on, the usual answer was that they don't know, but one guy told me check in two weeks!

So I am still hopeful!

I was able to buy an iPad Pro from a friend after if first came out (9.7", gold, 32GB) and I loved it, but sold it eventually as I thought at the moment that it was unnecessary as I had an iPhone and MacBook Pro.

Now here we are, waiting for a new iPad Pro release and I am anxiously waiting as I truly miss having an iPad. Although the new iPad seemed nice and all, I still want that premium feel and am certainly anxious for whatever Apple may have up their sleeve to release.

Anyways, glad to be waiting here with you all and hopefully we will hear some wonderful information soon!

I know but my simplistic side wants that gap, your either a consumer or a prosumer.

Gosh, I hope so too! I checked out the new iPad yesterday at my Apple Store, and although it was nice, it just did not compare to the Pro. So I am definitely with you waiting!

tommorow has a slim chance logically see because tomorrow they could announce a event for the 12th of April 8 days away and then release date could still be April 14th like this thread originally predicted.

Hasn't Apple released invitations on Tuesdays for a following Wednesday event before? Pretty sure that's happened -- could always be likely as well! ;)

Possibly although I don't know off the top of my head but I do know in the past 2 years they have announced one event 8 days prior so my 8 days theory has a possibility of happening. :Dif they don't announce for tommrow then it'd be a later April/May/ June event or it'll just be fall again and I'll be sad:(

I will definitely be in that sad club as well. Hoping we get something new, especially since the 12.9" Pro is a year and a half old. I guess we can cross all parts of us for invitations being sent out tomorrow! :)

This isn't happening. No way Apple releases another bunch of new iPad's right after releasing new iPad's. They'll probably come in the fall once they get the chip production sorted out.

They released 1 new iPad to bring uniformity to the current lineup it wasn't really a whole new iPad in the traditional sense

I know what you mean, but it was a refreshing of the line in general.

Before and after:

35kn8dt.png

Air 2 completely removed, mini 4 bumped up, and 9.7 introduced. Not to mention the other products launched and the Clips app launch that they would have loved to (really needed to) use stage time for.

Couple that with the fact that they flew in journalists for extended hands on and demos, and took the store down not only for unveiling new products but also a second time for when purchasing began. It's all stuff that could have easily happened (likely should have happened) along with an iPad Pro event this month.
