I'd honestly just like to know. If there is going to be no new iPad till September I'm going to need to purchase a second hand something to carry me over. If not I'll wait till April. On the other hand maybe I just need more patience with my 2.

Why invite tach journalists to private hands on to show the new products and software only to do it again in 2 weeks?

Twice the advertising?.....they did it with non touch bar Macs at the end of last year, reveiwers were given those first.....and then given the touch bar model to review a couple of weeks later, Apple are no fools

I'm looking forward to coming back to this thread once they are announced to see what the doubters have to say then.

I can see their rationale behind having these doubts but ultimately I'm Just trying to do a nice thing here only to be **** on.
I know what you mean, there is extreme ignorance when there aren't multiple pieces of proof that you can show everybody. Ultimately, it doesn't matter if you know you're right.

Personally I haven't looked into this but the last time I checked they were set for a release in the first half of the year so it could make sense.

I don't know why such a fuss is being made over this!

I have come across some credible information which indicates that there will be an iPad launch on April 14th.

Do not ask for my source or any proof I will not divulge that information as it will cause issues for me.

You can choose to believe it or not up to you and ultimately we will find out if its true in a couple of days.
I really hope you had the good sense to use a username on here that you're not using anywhere else then. Even though this isn't much of a leak, corporations don't have a great sense of humour.

Ultimately it's up to readers to put different sources of information together to deem if this is true or not. I believe there are other posts in this thread which speak to this being a possibility.

Yes ultimately the readers will see if this thread is a simple lie or not. The clocks are ticking until then.

I heard it through my Microwave. Is gotta be true.

Straight from the guy who recently claimed the iPad would lose the headphone jack before the new iPad arrived. You two should start some rumor site together. Forget leaks and all just throw fake news out all day.

Still doesn't make sense.

And the MacBook Pro with and without touchbar was shown at a single event.

After thinking about this more, I'm more skeptical. I'd think that if an event were 2-3 weeks away, Apple wouldn't have released 10.3, the (RED) iPhone, and new watch bands.

I'm thinking probably a small event at the Apple campus (guessing the new one isn't quite ready for something like that, but who knows, maybe a tour of the new one along with a new iPad announcement). A new iPad and some other tidbits wouldn't justify renting one of those venues, especially Moscone.

Yup. Just heard Gruber talking about his hands on. The majority of the time was playing with the Clips app. He said there's quite a lot to it and you could tell they would have loved to show that on stage, more than any other product that was recently updated. I think it's a pretty good sign that if an event was coming they would have done all these items at once.

Also, they took the store down twice last week. Once for the announcements, and then again for purchasing. I really don't think it would have happened with an event just 2 weeks away.

Problem there is only part of the Park is ready for move in. And the Steve Jobs Theatre (where they'll likely do future keynotes) won't be ready until later this year.

Apple does price drops to empty inventory. Like they did with Apple TV 3. I think that price drop was also some months before the release of the 4 right?
Repackage old generation parts, slightly lower price. Typical the Tim Cook apple before a new release.
I kinda expect something within the coming months.

Yeah, they dropped the Apple TV 3rd gen price about 6 months prior?

But this wasn't a price drop. It was new product releases (iPad, product red iphone, iphone SE updates, new watch bands and iphone/iPad cases).

I'll hold you to that. If you're right then you will achieve thug life glasses and full bragging rights. If you're wrong, prepare to take some angry insults. I'll bookmark this thread just like I did when another member held me to my assertion of burning my products two years ago.
I will literally burn all of my Apple products if they went back to the skeuomorphic design  . That was the one and only thing I didn't like about Apple.

So this obviously isn't happening. The event would have to be this week for the launch next week, and there haven't been any invites. :/

No I think by launc he meant the event is next week I'm still holding out hope for invitations to go out this weak then a late April release of them

If this were happening, an event would be early next week, maybe Tuesday. For that to happen, we'd basically need to see invites today.

Lol I love the optimism & hope some of you have.

I think I'd rather be pretty sure that no event is happening and then be pleasantly surprised if one does.

Yah I know I'm preparing my self to accept it which is fine because as much as a new iPad would be awesome the Air 2 does just fine.

The Air 2 seems to have been an excellent choice. This fall it'll be 3 years old and in that time the only real successor would have been the 9.7" Pro half way during that cycle, which in design aspects didn't really bring anything new.

I'm quite surprised by how much credibility this unsubstantiated rumor has been given.

The OP can't tell you want he actually meant because it would give away too many secrets. :p

This rumor stinks

It's the tone of it: Hush, hush, i've got a secret, you can't know. "You'll see", and "I'll come back and laugh"; that sort of thing. Then there's the obligatory, friend of a friend malarky.

If he was selling something i'd be sure it was a scam. :D

Luckily he isn't selling anything
