Don't worry, you will get it one day. Maybe not today but hopefully one day you will. Then look back and see why we said what we said.

Okay. I really didn’t want to get to this point but, maybe, I can do something good by writing a proper response.

Let us recap: I wrote a comment. A very simple comment reporting what a friend of mine told me a couple days ago. You jumped in accusing me of I don’t even know what, for no reason whatsoever. Now, either your life depends on the ipad pros being out in october or you have a problem.

I don’t really know what’s the nature of your problem, nor am I interested in investigating it. I just want to make sure that you understand that your reaction was inappropriate other than unwarranted.

I rest my case: get a life.

In my view, 'imminent' is any time from now to the end of October. I couldn't see Apple releasing them in November; it's too close to Christmas. And we are very sure it will be this year, so that rules out 2019.

Let's hope she's therefore wrong!
The first iPad Pro was released in November three years ago.

Not really sure why we need a IPP release date hate thread. It doesn't really matter when it releases, let alone arguing about who thinks who is right. Just relax and talk about how amazing the next IPP will be. You guys.:oops:

Personally I could care less about bezels, Face ID and all that. Just do an incremental update to the processor, do a press release, start selling the things and call it a day. I’m tired of waiting to upgrade my 9.7 IPP and would get the current 12.9 version now if I knew that there wasn’t supposedly an update coming very soon. If Apple were to make an announcement today saying that there wasn’t going to be any updates to the IPP for another year I would be fine with going to the store and getting a current one right now.

But announced in September
Correct, but your post indicated you thought November was too close to Christmas for a release, which is a point about purchasing time. History shows us Apple is willing to release an iPad Pro in November.

SHE is connected. But that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. The fact is that she has proved to be a reliable source within the past two years.

May I ask if your source works for or at Apple, like is she closer to the inner circle folks or perhaps heard this through the grapevine?

I want them to obviously come out with a new iPad this or next month, but I keep thinking 2019 is what Apple will do. I just want to be wrong. lol

But they knew from September so they could factor it in Christmas buying plans. Might make a difference?

To a buyer, maybe. I doubt it would prevent Apple from releasing in early November.

On a separate note, Apple is going to need a few more weeks at least to get iOS 12.1 ready to preinstall on the first models. So I don't think an October release is going to happen for that reason alone. Oct. 30 seems like the most likely unveiling day, with release a week or so later.

I logged in to ask if there were any hints yet at a date for the next Apple Event. What makes you think the 30th is it?

How long before an Event does Apple usually announce it on their website? Was the last one one a week or two weeks notice?

EDIT: Have the people who "predict" these events ever been wrong before that an event was happening? If there wasn't going to be one would Apple release a statement?

One week notice. If it’s not tomorrow people think it will be the last week in October because Tim Cook is booked to make an appearance in Europe the third week in October.

I'm finally getting around to actually buying my first iPad and I'm getting a little impatient.:)

I'd say $50 increase if at all. iPhone 8 started at $699 and the Xr is only $749, even though it has FaceID and the reduced bezels.
Up 100 probably

I have no sources but a gut feeling that October 30th is the day.
I have to go with sometime in the week before Thanksgiving. That’s when the original iPad Pro was launched and Apple just released its new phones and wearables, in fact the Xr isn’t going to be available until the 19th. An October event would be overzealous.

Around 8-9 hours until we’ll find out that the event its on 16th or last day of October

Won’t be the 16th because that’s too soon....need at least a week. So the soonest possible is the 18th, but I’m highly doubting that much anymore. Sadly, the most likely date IF it happens is October 30th. Maybe the 31st.

There is still time for a 30th October event, it's getting nearer as there are new leaks of the iPad Pro. These leaks are from Ben Geskin on twitter

It’s too bad that Tim Cook committed to giving that speech in Brussels on the 24th. At first I thought it was a good thing because surely they would have the event pushed up to next week, but sadly I’m pretty sure the opposite happened.
