Now you’ve got me really worried! I’d probably keep my 10.5 rather than upgrade to the new 12.9. Maybe even look at a MacBook.
Perhaps I'm being optimistic due to my own budget but I would guess that the iPad Pros might go up in price $75-100, so let's say $725-750 for the baseline 10.5-inch model and $900 for the 12.9-inch baseline model. I just need the baseline 10.5-inch Pro, my budget is like $850 so let's pray it's not more than that lol.
The XS is mainly expensive due to its OLED screen. The iPad won’t have that problem. Look at XR pricing as a means of comparison
The iPad won't have the fancy camera most likely either, nor GPS.
The main reason it's highly expensive is Apple have correctly determined that the market will bear that price, and they love being wildly profitable.
It's a trap to think retail pricing can reliably be reverse engineered to component and R&D costs. Consumerism is not a rational world!

The new pro cost? A fortune, I am sure. 
I love the new look (kind of Surface like) but neither iPad Pro or Surface can meet my pro needs therefore I am sure I won't be willing to pay what Apple will be charging for a new one.
But then again I do like the look and I may pick a used one next year or the year after, depends on how the internals measure up.

In thay case we’ve nothing to worry about then because iPad simply doesn’t sell well compared to iPhone
Surely what's more relevant is how well it sells compared to competitor tablets. I've heard that the apps for them generally suck, but do Android tablets sell well?
I think we’re looking at the Xr price range. Last year the iPhone 8 started at $699, the Xr is starting at $749, so I’d say we can expect the new 10.5 model to start at either $699 or $749. Don’t forget the keyboard and the pencil, though. That edges it close to a real starting price close to $1000.

I would hope you’re correct. But based on past trends I see them increasing the price by at least 100.

I'm totally okay with a $1100 price tag for the 12.9" 256GB, I have been saving my money for this specifically. My only caveats are if the iPad Pro doesn't get both orientation Face ID, A12X processor, BT 5.0, and no 4K 60fps camera, improved display and sound. Those are my must haves... besides 6-8GB RAM.

Way to high, a price jump of $200 for a redesign?
I could see the 11" starting at $699 and the 12.9" starting at $799 though (maybe $849) - the most they are raising prices would be $50. If they raise them that much, people would likely just get a laptop.
Everybody has the right to make a wild guess based on their own hunch or not based on anything. I consulted with my crystal ball and it said An iPhone XR costs $750 for 64GB and is 6.1”. The iPad Pro is either 10,5” or 13”. Consequently, the price for a 10.5” 64GB should be at least $1290 (proportional to the bigger screen).
However, I highly recommend the people who compare the iPhone price to the iPad price to join a marketing 101 class to learn about elastic and inelastic demand, price categories, product types and so on.
It has never been the case with iPad Pros that the price is proportional to the iPhone with regard to screen size. If that were the case, then the (current) iPad Pro 12.9 would start at $2,221 because the screen is 2.22 x larger than the iPhone XS and $999 (Xs starting price) x 2.2 = appx $2,220 which would be insanity.
Oh and they better do cool colorful smart covers for both sizes of iPad Pros. That’s a must for me cause black or white is really, really boring for the 12.9”.
