I rang EE after I ordered as the deal that they gave me via chat was not as good as what was online. They needed to cancel and reissue my order (This was at around 5pm on Friday) and the guy on the phone said id have it for Thursday. Fingers crossed I get it, but im in no rush.

What model you order?

I was looking at getting an iPad Pro through the carrier as wanted some data for using it out & about. So initially I looked at my phone carrier, Vodafone and they aren't offering it yet. Then looked at EE and have had a right difficult time talking to them. Some saying new customers cannot order it, some saying they can but then some saying I can use my NHS discount, some saying I can't. Just gone round in circles. So I did order it through O2, £57 p/m for 12.9'' 64gb Space Grey for 3gb data with some texts and £20 up front. However, saw it on Sky for £40 p/m with 1gb data with no up front cost so I ordered it via Sky, they say deliver on 7/11/18 whilst o2 were saying more than 4 weeks so I'm going to cancel the o2 order in the morning.

£55 cash back with Quidco through SKY too.
SKY is who I went with and they’re prices are so much better compared to o2 and EE.

I get 50GB on my phone data which I rarely push past 20 on so it’s absolutely pointless to need a data sim for an iPad that has anything more than the 1GB I’ll be getting with SKY. Wi-Fi hotspot and done. :)

Also delivers Wednesday apparently but second thoughts creeping in following the reviews.

Aren't the prices better because you have to pay for an extra 12 months after the deal is up? I did some calcs yesterday and came up with an awful number. May have easily been wrong.

Yes, the “Swap 24” is a 36 month agreement and the “Swap 36” is a 48 month agreement.
But I don’t think the prices are that bad as the device agreement is 0% interest (although the prices are inflated by between 6-8%) and the mobile agreement is only 12 months (IIRC).

The reviews seem largely positive? I’ve not seen many reviews but the ones I have, the only negatives are the price and the fact it’s not a PC.

Everyone’s use cases and needs are different.
I won’t derail the thread with my reasoning as to why im a bit concerned but lots of the negatives in these reviews are very valid points and make me question spending so much money on this thing.

Well I think you appear to have made your mind up. Cancel it and let someone else have it

Anyone ordered through O2 for launch day delivery? Was hoping to wake up to a dispatch email but nothing sadly.

O2 haven't got a clue, I ordered and they didn't even send a confirmation email, all of the staff keep saying '' its out of stock'', despite it not even being released yet and I phoned a little while ago to cancel an order and the lady on the phone was so vague about when it would be cancelled, whether I'd get confirmation and when and how my refund will be issued. Bizarre really. My experiences with both o2 and EE this week have been appalling.

I just rang for an update, the reason being that I thought 28 days expected delivery from the second they went live always seemed a bit odd to me, especially when Sky can deliver tomorrow (for example).

Anyway she just stated that it would be up to 28 days. I am now in a bit of a pickle, I sent my old iPad off to Music Magpie (as I had a price locked in until Friday) HOPING they would go out on launch date but it don't seem like this will happen.

I know its not EE's fault but still, but I am a little disappointed at 28 days

What I also dont get is my Very order for WiFi version is due for delivery tomorrow!

Terrible. I can only imagine they were caught off guard by the launch and haven’t been given firm indications of stock from Apple?

But even then, in my opinion, even waiting a week is too long (if you ordered straight away). Its a week almost since pre-orders opened and I can still order now for delivery tomorrow with Sky

I can only see the 64gb option in my iPhone for some reason and it’s how much!!!!

Perhaps I’ll have to spread costs with Very or something. Shame they’re not running a promotion with any money off
Wait until Black Friday to see if Very have any deals. Last year they were offering 10% cash back on all Apple products with the exception of the iPhone X.

I’ve had an email saying mine will be delivered by courier tomorrow. I only ordered it last night.
Do you mean the order confirmation I’ve attached a screenshot of? Just wondered if anyone had gotten a dispatch email etc

The debacle is sucking all the excitement out of this launch and makes me wish I’d never bothered.

Nothing from O2 and being held to ransom with no idea when I’ll get any dispatch notification, if at all. They seem to forget some of us have work and lives to live !!
