I took some kiwi leather polish to mine the day I got it because of all the scratches and wear on it. Now the case looks worn in and dark brown like a cocoa. Like the color but prefer the apple case.

Yeah I had to sort through the cases and find me a good one and this is the best one that I could find. I want to see how it wears over time. I doubt I do anything to it.

Finally! An Apple leather case in Sea Blue that's perfect out the box. Fits fine around the buttons, and bottom corners. Also no creases. The wait was worth it.

For my Nomad, I went to two different Best Buy's and decided on the best out of the 4. Some were really scratched and the others had these very dark streaks that looked "burned in" if that makes sense.

I've yet to be able to find a Nomad case at the three Best Buys near me that isn't totally marked up. Really looks like people take their finger nails to them and draw on them.

Right. That's exactly what it looks like because all of them had marks on them as if they scratched their fingernail on them on purpose. These companies needs to stop making their packaging wide open.

yea, I wouldn't worry to much about the scratches as with time they seem to blend in. Ill post a picture now of mine after less than a week of use and it came all scratched up and marked. Like I said earlier I put a coat of kiwi leather polish on it.

Nice. So are you still using yours or you decided not to rock with it anymore?

Not rocking it. I do use a dock and having to remove case every night is too inconvenient. Here are the pictures I promised.
O wow it gets that dark. That's a nice color. I love the way natural leather ages. That's the only thing you disliked about the case is the docking issue?

I just got my first sea blue today. It's got creases and has some spots that are nearly white. Guess my first black leather being perfect was a fluke.

Sorry to hear that! Are you going to exchange it?

That's sorta been my point. It seems as if the other colors are perfect out the box (tan, black, saddle brown, midnight blue), but not the newer colors like Sea Blue or Charcoal.

I ended up with a red one again. May have to order some leather conditioner. Not a huge fan of 'patina.'

May end up switching back to black.

How long does it take for the leather case to get more grippy? It seems extremely slippery right now and almost a deal breaker at its current state.

Any other way to get this look without coffee beans?

Coconut oil.

I used it to recover a water-damaged saddle brown leather case this summer, as you can see here (before) and here (after).

You can use any oil basically to darken leather, but coconut oil is nice because it's not fully liquid at room temperature so it's easier to apply. You can start with a little quantity and add more layers later if you like it even darker. Also, the smell is nice, but it will disappear after a week or two. After applying the oil you will have to let the case dry for one day or two, obviously.

I am using this saddle brown leather case on my 6 since one year now as my daily case and I love it. I previously had the silicone case but god, so much lint... I also have a Spigen Tough Armor case which I like, but just using it from time to time for sport.

Not sure yet if I will upgrade my 6 to an iPhone 7 soon (the 7+ is tempting me), but if I do I will definitively purchase an Apple leather case again.

Does Nomad Make a Black Leather case for the iPhone 7 Plus or just brown , Gray and Blue?

Gotcha, I think I'm going to let mine age naturally and not put anything on it if I can help it.

Nice review. I'm letting mine age naturally and the scratches definitely rub out if you don't like them. From what I"ve seen so far with a week or two of use is the leather on the nomad is getting smoother looking and definitely darker. IMO the nomad is head and shoulders better than the apple leather unless the newest gen has improved (I'm comparing with my last gen apple leather)

I have seen several Nomad cases in person and the "grey" is so dark it could easily be taken as black. I'm sure with even just a little use it will become black. It is however sort of a matte or dry finish like the brown, not shiny like the Apple cases. Of all three colors the blue Nomad has the nicest finish...deep blue color, smooth shiny leather...at least among the several cases I've seen at local stores.

Yeah for sure. I don't want out anything on it to change the color, I'm just going to see how it wears over time. I love it over the Apple leather case. Feels more durable to me. Will give updates on the color from time to time.

Just bought a Storm Gray Leather case from Apple to switch out with my Sea Blue Leather case.

Anyone using this one with a matte black?

How's that combination with the matte black iPhone 7? I was thinking about the storm gray combination with the matte black iPhone
