I'll reserve judgement until I hear back from Nomad customer service, but I'm pretty discouraged by what happened today. Just sitting in my pocket, no keys or drop or anything. No idea what happened but there's a nice, big hole where the leather ripped and it's only a few weeks old. I really loved this case up until today, and I know leather will wear but it should rip like this. I could understand if I had it in the bottom of a bag or in a pocket full of keys...but it wasn't anything like that so why did it rip? I emailed Nomad this morning so I'll let y'all know what their response is, I asked for a replacement or a full refund.

I think I'm going to buy the apple leather, just need to decide which color. What do y'all think, with a matte black 7+, storm grey or saddle brown?

I came here hoping to see some pics of the product red leather case and NOTHING, lol.
I bought that with my phone but my phone isn't here yet. Wanted to see what it looked like and if anyone has any pictures of the patina on that color.

I had a tear like that on my Apple leather for the 6S. It happened from a major drop. I had my phone on my lap and was driving 5mph in a parking lot. I hit the brakes ever so gently and the phone slid off my lap and onto my rubber floormat. At least a 15 inch drop onto a rubber floormat. It had to have hit a metal part of my seat frame... but I couldn't see where or how... Best $45 I ever flushed down the toilet.

A tear just like that was the result.

Wait... You want a refund or replacement on a case that you have had for "a few weeks" and it all of a sudden got a gash/hole on it, while it was in your possession? Why would a retailer give you a refund or a replacement? What, do you think the case grew the hole on its own?

Jack,
You're telling me a 3 week old case that hasn't been abused or dropped should look like mine? Even if it had only cost a dollar it should hold up longer than a week! Like I said, if I'd actually done something to it I'd accept that it was my fault, but all I've done with this is carry it and take it out/put it in my pocket. My previous generation appleleather case held up better than this and that was dropped a few times and used for several months.
Basically, I've done nothing wrong and feel justified in wanting some compensation for this. If you don't have anything helpful to contribute than maybe just stay quiet.

It looks like something hit it. Thats why the leather bunched up from that point of impact. Maybe you don't remember or didn't notice the impact but something hit it.

You should own up to it instead of looking at others to blame. The case did it's job. It took the impact and damage rather than the back of your phone.

Who's blaming others? Again I say if you spent money on something and it fell apart within weeks you wouldn't be happy about it.

Why am I arguing with idiots on the internet? Nevermind... I've got better things to do with my life.

My point with my post is to make people think twice before jumping on the nomad wagon. I haven't read about anything like this ever happening with the Apple leather case, and it never happened with mine.

If you read my post above you would see how easy it is to even rip an Apple case. Also I think my case was 3 days old

Powercool, thanks for the pics. You convinced me to go ahead and buy an apple case in saddle brown. I liked my 6+ version but didn't like the buttons so hopefully these new buttons are as good as everybody is saying.

I almost went with the storm gray but I haven't seen any pictures of a worn one and I'm hesitant to buy it if I don't know what it'll look like in a few months.

Matte Black iPhone 7 Plus with Saddle Brown Leather Case
I've darkened the leather with a layer of coconut oil spread throughout the case. Left it to dry for 15mins before using a hair dryer to get the job done up.

Seriously!!!! These photos are making everyone doubt their original choices, lol. That combination looks sexy as hell!! I think I might need to go ahead and order the saddle brown case, as well. Will sport my Product Red leather case with my Jet Black till this beauty arrives. BEAUTIFUL!!

You say the case hasn't been abused or dropped? HAHAHA! That case has clearly been abused or dropped. Dont blame the case, you need to take responsibility for your actions. Just because you dont know how the case got damaged doesnt mean its Nomad's fault. I hope Nomad tells you to go kcuf yourself.

My original thought, "what the hell does kcuf mean?? How do you pronounce that?!?!"
Um, yeah. I either need a nap or a HUGE cup of coffee, LOL.
