Anybody got a 6/6s lying around that you can try the iPhone 7 case on. I want to see how the big camera cutout looks on a 6s. Purely because I am not buying an iPhone 7 but fancy the Ocean Blue case colour.

Damn, that looks awful!

I can put my iP7 case on my GFs iP6S tonight when she gets home from work, will post a pic then.

tpacowboy- thanks for posting the pics. Yikes! I'd return it, too.

Does it say where that was made? (one photo kind of looks like made in China is embossed)

Sorry for late reply - yes, China.
[doublepost=1473871368][/doublepost]The iPhone 6 case I posted pictures of earlier definitely had plastic volume buttons. Cheap.

Thanks so much.

As you can see the camera is covered although it doesn't effect the use of the camera at all, it does make a bulge in the case though.

My iPhone 7 Plus leather case in black arrived. The quality of the leather is pretty poor. Lots of dimples and pick marks in the back, but I'm sure this would happen over time. I do expect better quality for $50.

My iPhone 7 case arrived today - black leather. I have already requested a return and refund.

There are markings on the back (I get that this happens with leather, but for £45 I am not prepared to settle for that). And the corners are all rippled.

Neither of these were issues with my iPhone 6 black leather case 2 years ago.

I also think the buttons look very plastic like and cheap.

Photos attached. Hopefully this is just a one off, but thought I'd share in case.

Every time I order leather cases I order 3 and return all but the nicest one... cause damned if 2\3 don't have this exact issue. I even complained one time and Apple gave me the "it's natural leather blah blah blah" line. That's BS. Can you imagine buying a Coach bag or a Louis Voutton suitcase and having low-quality-leather-smears going across the side? Never ever. Absolutely return it and get one without.

How in the hell did that get passed their quality control department?

They claim leather is unique and it's normal. I've been through this 20 times with them. It's absolutely unacceptable. I think they must be using the animal's ankle skin as leather and the quality leather brands are taking the good stuff. Cause can you imagine buying a car with leather seats or a high end handbag and seeing these streaks? Nope... but in the past year I've bought probably 15 leather cases and 2\3 of them have some sort of significant blemishes on them.

Another example of "it ain't what it used to be like" at Apple.

Right though any legitimate shoe company that uses quality leather would take streaks like that and either toss them aside or sell them as a 2nd quality product.

I have a black one and hubby has product red. The red looks so much better. You can actually see the grain in the leather or the red one and the black has no grain at all. Think I may swap on Friday if the store has stock.

Is it just me or do the new leather cases seem a bit thinner and chintzier than the old ones?

It's much larger on the 7 and also a tad lower.

So when in the Steve Jobs era did Apple offer premium leather products?

I'm thinking about finally trying the official leather case. Does the bottom of the phone generally stay scratch free / OK?
Yes.

Anyone can post a picture of the storm grey or marine blue leather case?

What is Apple's return policy for accessories purchased via the online store?

I suppose this is a good place to post this.

I've had a couple of Apple's leather cases over the years and and they have all been great. The problem, in my mind, is that they don't really look like leather should.

The best leather, IMO, should have a well used look to it. Like a good old baseball glove, cowboy boots or motorcycle jacket.

Since an iPhone case typically isn't around for 10years of outdoor weather use like a motorcycle jacket. I've resorted to staining and aging my last couple of Apple leather goods.

Here is my 7+ Saddle Brown case that arrived yesterday (with a water drop on it)

Even though it's the darker brown and will eventually take on a broken in look.

I wanted to give it a head start.

I
Buried the case in some moist espresso grounds over night. Onnthe right is an iPad Air 2 cas I did a couple of years ago.(looks much darker in the picture than in person but gives an idea of the difference.

One night later.

I waxed it and rubbed out some of the excess stain to get a worn look. Which will only get better with age now.

i've had the leather case on my iP6 for about 10 months so far, never have any issues with the bottom exposed. never understood the issue with it.

I tripped while walking up some stairs. My iphone 6s hit the stairs at the exact exposed area of the case and cracked my screen.

After that, i was done with the apple case.

Apple care plus and naked usage for me all the way.

Why buy a new iphone to use it with a case when it's going to look exactly like the ip6.

That looks awesome. I wish Apple stayed with the darker shades of brown.

P.S. For everyone complaining about streaks. Its leather, that is what makes all your cases unique. You will drive yourself mad finding the perfect one....trust me.

Agreed! I received my new black leather iPhone 6 case yesterday. Very minor blemishes and streaks It doesn't bother me at all. I had a saddle brown leather case for my iPhone 6. Nice case, but I didn't like how it aged, so I opted for black this time. The black is quite shiny out of the box, but it should get dull through some use.

Shiny is not good though. Shiny=dropped iPhone.

Tempted to go the Apple Store on Saturday and swap my leather for silicone, not impressed with this years version.. I've had it for every iPhone since 5S.
