Apple could no doubt come up with some interesting patterns and such using multiple colors, but making the iPod enclosure dynamic and color-changing would be truly cool - and we know for a fact they have explored the technology.

If you are going to base your opinions on what others think, that's fine, but the last institution ANYONE should be listening to is "PCWorld." MacRumors just lost all respect with me for giving any shred of credence to what those proprietors of fail think about the iMac.

Silver on the front, black on the back (like the iMac)?

perhaps for the defalut and you can add face plates...

Now I want multi-colored MacBooks.

ermm no thanks. IO do not want to go back to the old ibook look

"The new MacBook. Multi-touch on multi-color."

Does that mean the 8 GB iPod touch will be gone?

Most likely, I see the 8GB model going away. You kids just need to get used to the extra space.

I'm wondering about the "new features." I don't think it's as big as multi-touch. Built-in Blu-ray player Wi-Fi?[/QUOTE]

yeah wont be a blu-ray player, though it woud be nice to have the worlds first portable blu-ray player. We have portable DVD players, why not enter in to the firsrt portable DVD player.

if they upgrade the nano..won't they have to upgrade the touch as well?

I'm sure they will upgrade all the ipods....

Makes sense. There are enough people who buy every single iPod for their collection and don't even open the box that they can guarantee new sales to people who will never use them.

How great for Apple is that? People buy it, leave it in the box, and therefore never create a warranty event or support call. Free money as the warranty costs flow to the bottom line since they weren't consumed.

Make 20 different patterns and watch a whole lot of people go bankrupt.

Sorry but to me this sounds really dumb...one thing I have always liked about apple is their simplicity. I just cant picture a rainbow iPod ...eww

I dont think multi-color ipod nanos will jive. It would be interesting to see them use more laser etching designs like the 80 gb zune. Never the less you have to keep it interesting i suppose.......

I don't know if the touch functions would work that well on a Nano, thinking about device size vs finger size, might not be an ideal setup. Though if they go for an almost full screen on the front it would be more practical, but then you need to consider if the dimensions are ok for video playback.

As to the colors, in PGR4 for XBOX they offered a way to paint the cars where you took a pattern and then laid it over the car in any way you wanted so you could get more or less of certain parts of the pattern. Something like this could be offered for online ordering and would certainly give you a more custom/individual look as even though you share the same pattern you won't necessarily have the pattern showing in the exact same way.

Also, for a more full screen Nano, you can leave the front edges a solid color and allow freedom on the back.
