seems rather odd to release tomorrow since it being halloween. I looked at some previous iTunes releases one was at 1:52 PST so if we get nothing by like say 4:00 PST forget it.

Well, 22 hours until it's November 1 in China. The Chinese Apple.com.cn page for iTunes says Coming in October. China is their fastest growing market; it seems like every month they're opening a new store there. If it comes October 31st for us, it'll be late for the Chinese.

I think it'll come out later today.

Halloween doesn't change the fact it's the 31st of a month, the latest time in any given month...

Halloween is not an official holiday, there is nothing weird about it being released tomorrow.

Good point. As unlikely as this is, they could be waiting 'til later in the day because of all the Sandy news/aftermath. Just out of respect. 10 AM PST was the best bet, but Apple has been known to release software updates at different times throughout the day...

Yeah, I don't think it'll fall on some specific time. They're probably doing their final checks today and will flip the switch when ready, probably after lunch in Cupertino. 13:00PST onwards....

Not all software releases on 10 o clock. Sometimes it came 2/3hours later

what a way to procrastinate and wait till the very end of the month :apple:

I agree. As much as I love Apple and their culture, this isn't good etiquette. When you have a banner saying October for the entire month, it just angers people. There's no purpose to that; why not just put "End of October" in the banner, or "Coming Soon"?

They did say end of oct at the keynote. Site should say the same, I agree.

now im gonna just imagine that banner does say "coming soon" instead of anything else because basically thats when its coming... "soon" since they wont give a release date. they also did say "soon" at the conference call.. not "coming in october or end of october".

Apparently the iPad Mini review embargo lifts on Wednesday (October 31). Think Apple would coincide the release of iTunes 11 with the lifting of the review embargo? Don't know why they'd do that, but it's a thought...

Although this exercise is pointless, for discussion purposes let's analyze a few things:

1 - In 22 hours, it will be November 1 in China, their fastest growing market. The Chinese iTunes page says October.

2 - If Apple waits to release it tomorrow at 9am PST, it'll be November in China, they'll have missed their self imposed deadline. It'll be late in their most important growing market.

3 - In 6 hours, it'll be 5pm, the work day will be over in Cupertino. They wouldn't release it at the end of the workday because they need to monitor the worldwide downloads and manage any issues.

Considering all these facts, for the release not to be late, Apple will have to release iTunes 11 by around 14:00PST at the latest. It's almost lunch time now so my best guess would be that we'll have iTunes 11 within the next 2 hours.

Hold on to your seats fellas. :D
