Wow. Picked up my case from local BB in black today. They got a truck load in last night (even the ones for the Samsung Galaxy S3 which aren't even on lifeproof's sight yet I think).

This case is outstanding! Sound is perfect. Like I can barely tell I have a case on the phone. Being able to touch the screen is incredible. No more puffiness with presses at all. I had forgotten how sensitive the iPhone screen really is to touch.

The only issue I can see with this case is the back plate being prone to scratches. It shouldn't be too bad though because there is a raised lip that will keep the back from resting directly on a surface, but it can still get scratched I am sure with putting it in and out of your pocket and such. This is such a minor thing though I really don't care that much.

The screen shield they give you looks to be of good quality. I have not put it on yet though. I wonder if LifeProof will begin to sell extra ones though cause I am sure this film will scratch eventually as well.

In regards to questions about swiping up or down to bring up command center or whatever it is called, it is not a problem, even with the lip of the case being raised around the edges of the screen. Works just fine.

In short, I can honestly say that I have never put a case on my phone and thought "I will not take this off." With this case though, that thought actually crossed my mind. LifeProof I think may have hit it out of the park with this one.

I think I may have gotten a defective white one...

My sounds too "noisy" when the volume is turned up. I was talking to my friend, and although he said he can hear me clearly, when i listen to him, it constantly sounds static, its not a BIG static sound but I can hear it constantly...

the same goes for the speaker...

I'm gonna exchange it for a black one once my BB has them...

you guys are lucky :)

@fish: I like the screen protector, but its just cut a bit short...

I'm not sure if I will buy another one and custom cut it since i got this one on nearly perfect, with one or 2 very small dust on the bottom corner

Cool, yeah with this case I would tell you if you are having any issues with sound, you shouldn't be. The sound is great with mine.

As to the screen shield, I haven't put mine on just yet. I will soon though. Too paranoid to go without one I think. :)

Brett, do you think that drop of water could have jumped from somewhere on the outside when you were taking it apart? Maybe not though since you said you dried it off completely before removing the blue piece. I have apple care plus, but I just hope this screen seal works perfectly lol.

It's possible it did, but I don't think so. I'm not sure it's possible to dry the case completely... there's always still a bit of water in the cracks and such. I tried to be careful and open the case slowly so the water didn't jump around, but that's easier said than done.

Like I said, though, even before I opened it, I could see that it looked like there might have been a bit of water under the seal in that spot, so I think that one drop did make it past the first seal, but as I said above, it's a double seal and the second seal definitely kept the water out.

In the end my phone (or, well, blue plastic fake phone in this case) stayed completely dry, so I'm happy with it. That's why they have a double seal.

I would suggest you use the HINGE method to apply your screen protector..

If you do, I will guarantee you it will be perfectly align..

One note though, in other to do that method, it should be done with the CASE off

Given how good Gorilla Glass is, screen shields have outlived their usefulness. These days, they are more trouble than they are worth.

Completely disagree with that.

I have seen loads of scratched iPhone's with gorilla glass, many from just light contact with keys in pockets etc. plus a quality screen shield is almost imposible to detect when put on properly.

Everyone says DO NOT put the screen protector on with the case OFF the phone. You MUST do it with the case on the phone for proper alignment. That is if you are installing the included screen protector of course.

I know its recommended that way, but the screen protector is cut shorter than the actual screen..

Basically what I did was install the case, then align the protector to the screen to see exactly where its not hitting the seal..

Then I take the case off and align it the same way, then using the hinge method i apply the screen protector

its a lot simpler than trying to do it while the case is on because you can also risk not aligning it properly and dust may get it..

You just gotta know where the alignment is WHEN the case is ON, and you can align it the same way with the case off, as long as you using the hinge method, its actually real easy

Well after placing 2 orders for store pick up at different locations, I headed out of town this morning and decide I should check the local best buy location of where I'll be at for the next 6 days and I did the online order and pick and sure enough I received my "ready for pickup email" so now to get back to the camper to test it out and then hit the river with it.

For anyone in the New Braunfels, Texas area is the best buy store I purchased it at. But when I went in I didn't check to see if they had anymore.

Just picked mine up. Home button is straight!!

Light, light, contact with keys resulted in scratches? Right.

Keys and change in the same pocket as my iPhone5, iPhone5, not 'iPhones'. No scratches on the screen.

I always (no matter what) have my iPhone 5 in my left pocket completely by itself. Anytime it isn't in my pocket, it is laying screen up on a table or couch or anything. I tried it without a screen protector or case for a few months, and I guarantee you I had multiple scratches on the screen. Yet it NEVER came in contact with anything in my pocket aside from whatever dust or lint was in there. I am assuming dirt and dust can microscopically scratch it enough and then it would be visible. I used to say that it was a good idea to go without a screen protector on past iPhones and they did pretty well, but all resulted in scratches eventually.

I picked mine up today and right away, did a water test. I gave it 40 minutes and the fake phone that comes in the package was bone dry. I'm pretty impressed with the build quality (straight home button) and will use this as my full time case over the OB Defender I had been using. Still, this will not be the case I use at the beach as I can see sand scratching the screen pretty easily. I'll either get a OB Armor, Ballistic Hydra, or the Fre.

ok so couple of things.. First off, you CAN use the Fre back with the Nuud front.. I just did it.. 2nd, the nuud is definitely thicker than the Fre, and doesn't fit in the belt clip right.. I have the newer belt clip design ( I just got my free less than 2 weeks ago) and it still doesn't fit right..

Did you do a water test like that too? I did verify that they fit together, but my concern would be that the gasket around the screen wouldn't seal quite right if the Fre back allows the phone to sit just a little farther back.

Mine looks about the same in the new belt clip, but it definitely still works and it feels OK taking it in and out. With the old belt clip it felt awkward to put it in and the clip stayed so far up that the phone could easily come out if it was bumped. I was also unable to use the lock to lock the clip down. With the new case the phone is held firmly in place and I can still lock it if I need to (although in the entire time I had the belt clip I only locked it once when I wore it on my bathing suit out in the ocean). I'm quite happy with the new clip.

well I just returned mine after exchanging one. Both had issues in which whomever I was talking to couldn't hear me. Tested it with my roommates, pretty much sounded like the phone was across the room. I've never had a lifeproof case before so I'm not sure if there is an easy fix for this.

Sort of upset over it, really was my favorite case I had besides that. Loved the size, the back, the build quality. It's a shame, I wish it worked out better.

Yeah, I have the newer belt clip as well and mine looks the same as yours. It stays in just fine though. I shook it around like crazy and it did not seem to budge. LifeProof says that it should work as well.

Anyone Actually put the screen protector on the phone yet? How does it look?

Did you water test the case first? If you get a drop of water in the mic hole it will definitely cause this problem. If the case was dry, then it certainly sounds like it was defective.

That sucks about the clips. I was about to order the bike mount and the suction cup mount for my nuud. Wonder why they say it fits both?

I did the water test but I blew in it and waited a few hours before making any calls. not sure what more I could have done? any ideas? I'd really like to get the case again eventually

That's certainly all I would expect that you would need to do.

I just did some testing with my phone and I found that voice quality drops off pretty quickly the farther the phone is from your mouth. If I held the phone up to my head with my hand with the screen on my cheek then it sounded very good. If the phone moved further from my mouth... even by an inch or two, like if I tried to hold it up with my shoulder instead of my hand then my voice would start to drop out a bit and it would sound like I was far away.

Try another one? I don't know man. Must have been unlucky. Sound is great with mine. Much better than my Fre, and that one wasn't too bad either.
