You can contact Apple through Apple Support online and you can initiate a return through text with them or in store (if you are still within the return window).
Hi, thanx for reply. Where I bought it they say: you can return within 30 days if not unboxed ? (sound little funny, right? But it is truth, unfortunatelly). So this is not option. I already contacted Apple support chat (mysupport via my Apple account), they directed me eventually to call local support number and guess what: local support after call recommended to go to store directly where I bought it ( as said and one collegue above have food words for this: “seven circles of hell in these cases, same where I live” ?), they did not go to contact premium reseller which I expected. I see that I maybe need to retry online text chat and retry again so that they contact reseller where I bought the laptop (well, I assume they shall be able to do so as they know which serial number delivered to which premium reseller and also they have serial according to mysupport via my Apple account where I registed the laptop). Does it make sense?

If I understand you correctly, you want Apple support to contact the store where you purchased your Mac and tell them to take it back even though the store return policy has passed for your Mac? If that is correct, I am not sure Apple will get involved. It won't hurt to ask them directly but, that is highly unusual for Apple.

Well yes. I am reporting manufacturing defect to Apple which obviously exist and I am “lucky one” (?), unfortunatelly ?. That is why to Apple and they handle this further. Well, sound logical to me that way. As said, return policy 30 days if unboxed, which does not sound logical and right. How I can return something because I could not noticed defect if I did not start using it - I did not expect this and searching before unboxing could not find, unluckly, that this issue exist … otherwise great machine, but this annoys a lot. So hell circles are necessary if I got you? Why? Why, if not my fault but vendor defect ?? Well, if no other way … but yeah, I will double check with Apple support chat anyway to see if what I thought is possible …

When you talk to Apple again, make sure they are clear that you need them to step in on your behalf with the vendor, so that you can return the Mac or exchange it for a new one. I understand what you are saying, it's just that the regular Apple support reps don't do that kind of thing. It usually has to be handed off to someone higher up on the Apple employee chain.

Hi. Ok. Thank you very much my friend for the answers and help with this. I am new user of Mac. I own from before Ipad Mini and did not have noticable issues (luckly) and do not know Apple procedures for cases like this (I wish I never knew, to be honest did not expect at all). Thanx again for the advices. I will see how it will go and update afterwards.

May I ask what is proven and way We can reach directly Apple so that we show them the case (I am “lucky one” joined the club), they (Apple) see that/ inspect and the preferably contact local resseller for return/refund (this option because from reading some other experience on forums, even after replace they had same issue). In my country as well can be kind complicated.
Do you have an official Apple presence on your country? If so, I’d look for a phone number or live chat option and contact them that way.

There is Premium reseller where I bought my laptop from, my understanding is they are not “official Apple presence”. Am I right?

Since you didn’t purchase from an authorized Apple reseller, Apple probably wont be able to do anything in that regard. You will probably need to contact Apple again and inform them that the Mac has a physical defect and needs to be returned to them, since the store purchased from doesn’t have a policy allowing for a return.

I know might not be place here in this thread to ask, but what is difference between Apple Premium Reseller and Apple Authorized Reseller?

Mine (MacBook Air M1, 2020) wobbled when I pressed on the lower right corner. I laid the laptop in such a way that the upper left diagonal half was on the table and the bottom right diagonal half was hanging just off the table. Then I just pressed down on both corners with a gentle force and now it lays perfectly flat. Looks like these do bend quite easily.

I experienced the same thing with the first M1 MBAir that I purchased. I took it in for a different issue (because that one had more than one) and I brought it up and demonstrated. They, of course, took their machine(s) and tested it in the same area to make sure, and theirs did not wobble. At first, I scheduled an appointment to take it in so they could ship it off. But then I found out that the repair involved would consist of replacing the top and bottom cases, as well as the display. I asked if since it was so extensive if they couldn't just exchange mine for a different machine. They ultimately did that and, so far, this one is not wobbling, except in places that I already know to be uneven services in some capacity.

This helped! Big thanks! Now the Macbook air is flat on the table!

Hi all,
Is it really good idea bend to oposite side in order to flatten brand new laptop? I mean buying brand new Mercedes and flatten dors by myself for example does not sound like a solution. Maybe for used one can possibly solution, but for brand new not.

I have the same problem. I will send my Macbook Air to service, maybe they will give new Mac. What are the chances of this issue occurring on a new device?

I guess Apple will just use a screw driver to fix this problem and then will return your device. If you want a new device, you should just return the device within the return period and buy a new one.

Do you think the new device may have the same problem?

I just got a second hand unit, barely used by the previous owner, 5 battery cycles, and realise it wobbles on the bottom right, is this fixable by Apple? I've already booked an appointment and I am outside the return window. I have put some tape at the bottom to mitigate this and it is much better though.

I see that people have more problems with Air. Maybe because of different shape. What does apple say about that?

I bought one this weekend that wobbled. Made a trip back to the store. Sales person verified the wobble and exchanged the machine.

Bent aluminum panels seems to be a problem for Apple -- bent IPPs, wobbling MBAs, crooked display iMacs.

I noticed that one of the corners on mine were not aligned properly, it was raised a wee bit. This caused a slight wobble. I just released all the screws and released the tension in the bottom plate. Then I tightened all the bolts making sure that everything aligned. Problem solved, saved me a lot of time in not having to visit the Apple Store, and foremost, not having to set up everything again. It's all fun setting up a new computer, but not twice in a week.

PSA: If you decide to do this and remove all screws, be aware that the four screws under the display side that are longer, actually differs in length too. The two middle ones are ever so slightly longer.

I had a wobbling Air. Brought it into the Apple Store to be checked by a Genius. He did not really seem to see the problem, but I stressed that it would be great if they could check it out. So he sent it in to the service hub to get it looked at there and having it shipped back to me directly once the service is done. They did replace the bottom plate of the Air and the wobble was gone. Missing the Serial etched into the bottom plate now, but at least the wobbling stopped.

Exactly the same for me, except I was at an authorized Apple reseller. They couldn't do anything for me, so they sent it to an Apple Store. In a week, I got it back free of charge (I purchased the Air five months ago!), and they did replace the bottom plate as well. Now it's standing like a champ, like it's supposed to be. Manufacturing error for sure.
