with 24 hours they mean that it will leave their stocks in china within 24 hours, then it will take about 10-15 days before it actually arrives at your doorstep at least thats the time it took my ipod and macbook.

But what do you think about the case when it even take more than a week to ship?

I read about a similar case in a different thread. The guy who was posting ordered three days after me and finaly got the same shipping date (Oct. 10)

Well, I've been thinking that for some weeks now. But of course, some day has to be that day. But probably not this one.

My bet is on next year.

My bet is sometime mid-november (for availability if not the announcement).

Today isn't over yet though, they're only just getting up in the US right now.

Well I already gave up hope of a C2D, I already have a Core Duo MBP and its incredible but I kinda hoped C2D would come out to swap it right away without losing any money. I have an important presentation coming up and I can't wait to fire up Keynote 3 :)
you wont be able to swap without losing any money.. you will lose the restocking fee, about $300, give or take a few

Another pathetic showing by Apple... just put the freakin' chip in the macbook pro already and be done with it. If they want to change the design of the macbook pro at least give people something up-to-date in the time between.

when apple finally does launch core 2 duo macbook and macbook pros, do you think they will also improve the hard drive capacity as well to 160? (currently it is maxed out at 120)
