it's rather hard for me to believe that he's pulling this kinda bait and switch type, cuz i've had nothing but great customer service with him. i've had the v1 case, returned and got refunded in a very timely fashion. then i got the v2, but i asked for an exchange due to the poor fit issue. he shipped out the replacement the 2nd day from my request WITHOUT even asking me to send back the old one. the replacement had the same fit issue and magnets weren't working properly, + quality issue. he gave me a prepaid return label and i shipped it back, got my refund AND a free case with a little fit issue.

Just checked the mail box and was surprised to see the Yoobao case there.
Guess I was expecting a UPS shipment.
I can verify that the case that I got is the updated version 2 and the best part is I only paid $14. What a deal! Thank you AYL!
It only smells very little if I put my nose to it, hope that it goes away in a few days. The sleep function does not trigger when I fold the cover all the way back.
The case is very soft and feels like a quality product.
All the openings on my black case lines up and the front lid closes flat.
The only thing that I can think of as being negative is the inside flap.
It's kinda small so it feels like it may not keep the iPad secure but I will keep an eye on it and see if it moves over time.
Even though I got a great price, I would have paid the current price for the quality is really nice and well worth it.
For those that are siting on the fence, go for it you won't be disappointed.

just got this case, does anyone else's align like this? seems slightly off (and I can't push the Ipad in anymore, it wont budge). It was problematic (and didnt work with my PX100's) without taking it out of the case.
is this normal or should i contact them?
Doggfather... Mine is pushed in all the way and the mic doesn't quite line up... The headphone jack is a little off too... All other openings are perfect. Weird. Debating whether to send it back as well.

Very has three color bars on the bottom corner of the box black red brown. Ver2 does not have those markings on the box.
Today I received my brown case (yay), but when I put the front cover all the way to the back, then it activates the sleep/wake (boo!). Smell is alright, but the malfunction regarding the front is really annoying as I usually hold my iPad in the reading position. Any tips what I should do about this to solve it?
Does anyone have a screen shot of the new verse old box? I wonder if that will be helpful, clearly many of us purchased these from the $14.00 special, its clear some are getting rev 2 and it seems other the older one. Mine is on its way ups and shipped from California going to NY. It seems it did not ship from Amazon so Im not sure if that is a good or bad sign of whats to come?
According to the Youtube review linked a bit higher in this thread, the old one will have Chinese characters on the top edge/flap of the box whereas the revision has "Yoobao" in English.
Thank you, I will post pics when mine arrives. I still find it hard to believe Amazon would tolerate someone doing a bait and switch. This seller is not even showing the rev 1 cases online so it would take some nerve to send them out as rev 2 cases.
I'll verify that. My rev. 2 case came with no Chinese characters on the top flap of the box. In fact, there are no Chinese characters on it. The first version's box had characters on the top and back.
The ver 2 box also doesn't have the 3 color bars on the front bottom right of the box as the ver 1 box did
If I were to speculate (not saying this is actually the case), maybe they are testing and airing out the original versions that do not have the magnet shut off when folded back issue and passing them as the latest version. Maybe they figured that if they smelled less potent and the sleep/awake feature worked as advertised, people wouldnt notice (and I am sure most wont us OCD Techno Geeks are not the norm).
The one that I received does not have this magnet issue, but it stinks and the leather feels cheap. I know its only a $40 case, but can ALL the reviewers be wrong about how much nicer the leather feels on the new revision?
Also, as shown in that YouTube video I linked in my previous post, my box is consistent with the original version of this case. AYL responded to my email and was a bit vague in terms of which version they think I received, but they are willing to replace it so Ill see what happens next. They said that both newer and older models are shipped in the same box, so I dont think they ever noticed the small differences. I didnt cite them in fear of them swapping boxes.
I told them that Id only go for a replacement if they can guarantee that Itll be the revision 2 Ive not heard back from them yet, but its only 1:30pm on the East Coast. All of the openings on my case align perfectly, so lets hope this is also true for the replacement.
Buying a nice case with few flaws for the iPad 2 has turned out to be quite the challenge. Id gladly pay $100 for this case with matte premium good smelling leather, better stitching, a better fold-in tuck and a cover that not only allows for the sleep/awake function, but actually STAYS CLOSED until lifted. Using stonger magnets to make this possible seems like a no-brainer to me.

Thanks for the link. I am not really into their style, and it looks like their cases are more bulky than they need to be. I prefer the device to be wrapped in a tight leather skin.
As for my Yoobao Case - the smell was giving me a headache, so I had to finally take the iPad out, throw the case back in the box and go back to the SmartCover.
I've still not heard back from AYL. This whole revision thing is very shady. Did everyone check their 'revision 2' case boxes? Let us know what the top portion shows (Chinese symbols, or 'YOOBAO.COM').
Got my replacement today and I am sending it back for a full refund it wound up being ver1 that they replace my rev 1 with. I won't be doing business with them anymore. Check your boxes people

Also bought for $14. Got 2nd revision. Box flap has no Chinese characters. Top flap says yoobao. Bottom flap says www.yoobao.com. But earphone opening is misaligned and makes plugging in headphone difficult. I think with all the troubles finding an acceptable case, I am just gonna keep this for $14 plus shipping.

Crap, I have received the first version. My box had Chinese characters on it and three strips on the lower right side. I've emailed Obostore about this and they replied with this:

Right. I emailed to ask for a replacement before I'm sending them the present case back. I'm not trusting this company about this as their website clearly said "newer version", but instead they tried to ship me the inferior version.

Question for those who ordered the $14 case from AYL, did yours ship USPS or UPS? Mine i son its way by USPS which tells me its shipped by the seller direct and not fulfilled by Amazon as they only use UPS. My case left from Anaheim. It should arrive today or tomorrow. I'll post a pic to see if I have a rev 1 or rev 2 case. It appears these are coming right from the seller it may be they are unloading rev 1 cases. It would make sense Amazon is fulfilling with only rev 2 cases. Perhaps I'm reading to much into this but either way it seems strange so many of you are getting rev 1 cases this week.
