Given that mine says "Delivered in 3-5 business days," I'd not at all be surprised if many don't ship until Friday, and given the '3', it seems none will ship until tomorrow.

However, there is hope that this is the one place in this entire N4 ordering mess that Google will under-promise and over-deliver.

Agreed! I hope they start shipping today like they said and maybe mine will get shipped sooner than later.

Google Nexus 4 Review - Google's new Flagship

You can go back and read what I've written about the Nexus 4 hardware — in a word it's superb. In-hand feel is awesome thanks to the rubber ring running around the perimeter of the Nexus 4, and build quality is also very good. I've fully disassembled my Nexus 4 three times and put it together without issue, and the Nexus 4 has taken a few trips to the floor (my fault) without any adverse effects.

Finally, there's also the matter of price. For $299 you can get the latest and greatest hardware and 8 GB of storage, and for $349 you can get double that storage with 16 GB (12.92 GB usable). Both are fully unlocked and carrier-agnostic, and at those prices the Nexus 4 pretty much blows the doors off of any other unlocked or out of contract smartphones, which usually end up being priced at around $600 or more.

If you're an Android enthusiast, the Nexus 4 is obviously the phone to have right now. The combination of APQ8064 and MDM9x15 is excellent in spite of some unfortunate thermal throttling, and we'll be seeing many more Fusion 3 based devices in time at prices well above the Nexus 4 out of contract. At a fundamental level there is quite literally no better vehicle out there for Google to communicate its smartphone platform via than the yearly Nexus refresh. On its own, the Nexus 4 would otherwise be phenomenally great hardware. As a Nexus, it's a level even beyond that.

Google has come an exceptionally long way since that first Nexus One.

that is what my confirmation email said...."two day shipping"
No, my email says 3-5 days. The truth remains unknown until delivery. :)

Edit: Wallet says 2-day. Email says 3-5 business days. Again, it gets here when/if it gets here. But I hope for a Friday delivery.

I called google about the two day shipping. They tried to explain to me that it is really one day shipping, two day "delivery" making a total of 3 days from when you order to when you should get it, hence where the 3-5 days come from. So according to him, most people should be getting it by Friday, maybe even Thursday at the earliest.

That is exactly how it was with the old nexus. Delivered in 3 days, but shipped the day after I ordered and came the next day.....Friday seems like it is the day.

To insure or not to insure...

Is anyone going to get insurance on their Nexus 4?? I am thinking about square trade. What about every else? Do yall even buy insurance for your phones?

I always do since I use the phone naked. I have heard nothing but good about square trade so I will go that route too.

Seems like this is what Google Play staffers told one of the customers (based on his Google+ post) regarding the device availability.

I just spoke with Google about the #nexus4 launch.
Please be patient. The Google Play Orders are based on one server, which understandably got bombarded. In addition to that, they are being cautious about orders. They learned their lesson with the #nexus7 launch, and are trying hard to avoid the same backlog of orders. Part of that is auditing the orders. Another part of that is their experience in Australia and the UK, in which the phones sold out in just over 20 minutes each time.

One incident was cited this morning in which a guy had 10 orders...of 4 phones...all processed withing 13 seconds of one another. I'm sure you can understand the issue there.

Didn't get yours? That's okay...neither did I...and neither did a lot of Google staff...yet (yes, they order phones just like the rest of us). You will, though...you will. If you don't get it today, the next scheduled release is in 3 days once they can get a better handle on orders and stock.

I hope this is true

I'd hate to have to wait until Monday

Regardless, just happy after countless refreshes, notify me turned to add to cart...I got my order in, email confirm, and money taken from bank account.

I'll feel better once I get a tracking number
