Can the Lock screen and home screen have separate wallpaper?

Hate having to install another app just to do that.

I don't use a pass code, but the options to use swipe, face detection, pin, etc remains unchanged.

As for notifications on the lock screen, yes they can remain available to see anytime you wake your phone. However, only 4 are visible at a time.

Hopefully in the finished product , you can scroll them like on SlideLock.
I notice that it puts your Google acct pic in the right corner now. Is that an option or always there?

Yeah, I noticed that too. It is taking your G+ profile pic. I guess Google is really integrating G+ into everything.

And I have not found a way to disable it either.

That looks nice and ugly at the same time. Why such a noticeable break after each notification?

Thanks for all the info so far. I'm gonna put it on my Nexus 7 first. If it feels solid I'll move it over to my Nexus 5 as my daily driver.

It is standard now apparently?

No problem. My Nexus 5 was a spare phone, so didn't care if L killed it. I understand your hesitation on a Beta build.

Anyone having problems sending picture text messages using the google hangout app? I also get like a bug where it keeps restarting once I reboot the phone.

And did you do a fresh install or flash all images except for userdata.img?

Fresh install. My Nexus 5 was wiped clean and set on the shelf for a while. Only thing I did was load 4.4.4 on it last night. Never logged in or set up the phone, then today did a clean install via fastboot flash-all.bat

Ok I am about to try that on my Nexus 7. I flashed all but userdata and my home button and notification panels don't work.

About 10 minutes on the boot animation screen. Don't worry. It's normal. ;)

This for me, too. Instead of panicking, I made dinner.

I wiped everything. Including user data.

This is my daily driver. A little disappointed with the couple of apps that don't work, but the overall experience is good so far.

Yes, I am very surprised. I expected a bit more bugs in places. Considering ART is still new and many apps haven't even started upgrading to the new play services, everything works extremely well.

Gotta keep digging though.

BTW, which keyboard you using? I'm liking the 'material' option of the Google stock keyboard.

I'm a big stock android guy. I like the new keyboard a lot. I'm pretty bullish on the entire experience.

After re-flashing system.img on my Nexus 7 and the home button still not working, I am doing a clean install. Waiting for it to boot up now. I backed up apps through Helium beforehand to be safe. If it works out well I will likely do this to my Nexus 5.

I told you art worked just fine :p

I'm jealous gpe doesnt get the preview, nice thread :)

I don't know if you care about flash player, but I'm curious if the hacked xda flash player that works on kit kat + dolphin browser w/ jetpack still works.
Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/guide-how-to-play-flash-video-android-4-t2548001

Stock Email app still doesn't support IMAP push notifications

And to think, this OS comes from the makers of the most widely used email service.

----------

The new L release also won't let me update any of my Google Apps (Music, Search, G+, Camera, Drive, Calendar, etc.).

Looks like you can upgrade them manually. Not sure why they're not auto updated.

Edit: Not all the apps you listed, but a few Google apps.

I couldn't update them manually as I got an error every time. But I figured out what it was. I had to force Google Play to update. Once that updated I could update the Google apps just fine.

Was gmail one of them? It looks like mine still has Kitkat Gmail on it.
