Well, my n5 is now retired. I ended up cracking the screen near the bottom a couple weeks ago, and long story short, I ended up finishing the screen off. It shattered. :(

3 days in with the Nexus 5. I like it.

Hangouts is weird… I can't seem to receive Picture Messages (not that I get many). Anyone else experience that?

So far, the photos syncing/backup to Google Play Photos is spotty, but I could be doing something wrong.

Overall, I'm still learning, but I like it thus far.

Hangouts is strange with pictures. Sometimes they come in totally black to me and the person has to resend it.

Google Photo sync is also a hit and miss. I have it set up to backup on wifi only. It seems like the issue occurs, sometimes, when I take a photo or video and I am aready on wifi. The photo/video will either not get backed up at all or only back up once I leave and re-enter a wifi zone.

The galary and photo app is also really weird. If you swipe left in your camera app it takes you to the photo app, but it is really just the pictures in the gallery. I also am confused if I am deleting my backed up photo's stored online or just the gallery photos. It only deletes the photos stored on the phone, but it shows the photo app icon as if I am in the backed up photos. It makes zero sense and is probably hard to explain.

Is anyone still "in love" with their Nexus 5's at all?

Is anyone still in love with an iPhone? I mean, it isn't like it has changed hardly at all in 6 years. Same GUI, same design layout, same home button look, same limitations.

That was a sarcastic response to your question on purpose. Your question, whether it meant to or not, comes across similarly. By design, flame bait. My feelings are not what I typed by the way.
Yes, I love my Nexus 5.. And my Nokia 520.. And my iPad Mini. Otherwise, I wouldn't be using them.

I still love it. Some things in the latest android that puzzle and annoy me but overall I think the phone is fantastic.

I will say certain things are not intuitive at all and can be a turn off. I was setting up someone's n5 yesterday and they could have never done it alone. For example getting visual voicemail through Google voice is not easy for someone coming from an iPhone.

Still love it. One complaint I have is when I have it on silent, it doesn't vibrate when I get a phone call and I always miss them. Just wish there were more options to choose from.

Blame the carriers for Google Voice being the bastard child that it was/is. AT&T and Verizon being the 2 major culprits of screwing with Google Voice (and Wallet!) as much as they could and can. Hell, they still like to prevent MMS from happening unless you do a work around.

I can't even begin to tell you my contempt for US carriers, like ATT and Verizon. This sort of crap doesn't fly in Europe.

I still love my Nexus 5. This is coming from a longtime iPhone user too. Sure, there are things that are different that annoyed me at first but I've learned to really enjoy the experience.

Does anybody here feel the power button is too high? Just got to handle the N5 for the first time and I feel LG placed it a touch too high. This is especially important because it's the only way to wake the phone. That fact alone would be a deal breaker for me. Sony and Samsung do a great job with respect to the placement of their power/wake buttons.

It is definitely higher than some other models but it's not too different to get used to.

Do you find that you have to shift your hands to use the N5 after waking it? One of the worst things about the HTC One IMO is that you need to reach up to wake the phone and then shift your hand down to use it. (If you use one hand.)

I just did what you said, and I have to shift my hands. I do have small hands though.

I do but after a week or two of using the N5 it feels extremely weird to use an iPhone so I guess I'm used to it?

I don't think it helps being left handed either. If I was holding the phone in my right hand I could comfortably wake it with my thumb then use without readjusting.

Still loving my original launch Nexus. Sound has improved for me with the update. Only annoying thing is I can't adjust the notification and ringer volumes separately.

Now contemplating wether to stick with AT&T or switch to T-Mobile since both have excellent coverage in my area.

True but it is paid over two years instead of all at once. Still steep for a finance charge but it's an improvement.

It's not a finance charge. T-Mobile simply charges a higher price for the phone. A very common practice in retail for hard to get or high demand products. I don't care for that practice, but it's existed for years.
