Well mine arrived on Friday and I've been playing around. Not put my sim in yet because imessage refuses to turn off and I don't want to miss messages.

I've got a 311 which I think means its not got the revised speaker holes and buttons. They don't seem loose and its loud enough for me. Is it worth returning and exchanging?

I just returned a 312 and the speaker holes were the same as my 311. And in fact the mic holes o my 311 were bigger than than the mic holes on the 312. Beleive it or not, the 312 had two different size holes but it is a very slight difference but you can see it if you look hard enough.
And the screen on the 312 had a little bit of a yellow tint to it compared to the 311.

I wouldnt return it if it doesnt have any issues.

I have a Spigen Slim Armor in Black on mine. It's a perfect match with a nice grippy feel.

If you like the all black stealthy look, this case is wonderful. Charges just fine also.

Long last finally ordered my Nexus 5.

Black, 32 GB with the Nexus 5 bumper case. <3
I'm truly excited about this. I REALLY hope its worth the jump from iPhone and the wait

I think the iPhone is too small. The N5 just feels like the sweet spot. Without a case I can't hold the iPhone. I don't think I would need to case the N5.

I would say the 4S is too small. 5 is sorta okay. I would take a 4.5 inch iPhone gladly though. I use a 5 inch galaxy s4 and seriously hate the size even though it is smaller than a Galaxy s 3. I just don't want a mini tablet and I am disappointed Google has jumped on the monster bandwagon too. Thankfully Motorola didnt shoot for the giant for their moto x. Much nicer to hold and operate.

After about 3 weeks of Nexus 5 use....:

Pro:
• Very lite
• Feels expensive (well made)
• Screen size and quality
• Much faster then iPhone
• Battery now OK (activated some saving modes), similar to iPhone (I don't use LTE)
• Some apps have more function then on iOS (Dropbox is MUCH better)
• No iTunes
• Direct access to the file directory when connect to the PC
• The wireless charging works well
• Half price compare to the better iphones

Cons
• .... still thinking, give me a bit more time please....

The Nexus 5 I bought has exceeded my expectations significantly.

If there's one reminder here, it's that there's quite a difference between reading the reviews and actually owning and using the phone on a day to day basis. In my case the pros greatly exceeded the cons, and the result is wonderful. So much so, it set off a chain reaction in my household. Everyone liked it so much I ended up buying three more to replace their iPhone's.

Frankly I was especially surprised that my wife was so keen to give up her 5S, yet it was the lure of the larger 5" display that did it. Another draw for her is it's clean looks and absence of a physical home button. Ever since having one fail on her iPhone 4S, she's been concerned about another failure. That was exacerbated by the failed home button on my iPhone 5.

Too bad Apple procrastinated so long, it would have been nice to see what a larger iPhone is like yet frankly for my usage Android 4.4.2 is a huge upgrade over iOS 7. Having easy access to the file system is a big advantage for me, as is the fact that it interfaces so easily with my MBP.

At the end of the day the experience spawned a wave of Android purchases. Curiosity caused me to add a line and a Galaxy Note 3. Then a Nexus 7 to compare to my terrific iPad mini. Both of these Androids are also impressive, it's a refreshing change and quite a nice boost in productivity. Due in large part to the very fast and enjoyable SWYPE keyboard.

I remain an ardent Apple computer enthusiast, who's now converted to Android as a smartphone platform. It's a great combination.

I rushed out to get a 5s on launch day, but have poor battery life, regular crashes which I know is down to ios7, and will be sorted... But the screen is the major draw for me... Decisions, decisions!

Just a heads up to hangouts users, it has a tendency to wipe all your SMS.

Did it the second time today. So I re-enabled the standalone messaging, and turned off SMS in hangouts. So annoying. Lost all my SMS history in a blink while doing nothing at all, just sitting there.

Also the app is so confusing and not so user friendly at all. At this time, the single reason I am using hangouts is because my extended family back home still uses Google talk. Otherwise it would have received the boot long ago. Piss poor app.

I use Textra, much better than hangouts.

Is this a bug? I've been using hangouts since inception and have zero issues to speak of. It does everything I want, anyhow.

No idea. But I am not risking it again.

The convulated interface causing me to send SMS messages to email addresses was already annoying enough so I use it for Google talk only now. Things are much more manageable now.

I have been using it from the start as well and have never had an issue. I like the fact I can archive everything.

This is how i work aswell, i love my Apple Laptops and Desktops but when it comes to smartphones Android wins hands down. Im sorry but how smart can IOS be when you can't even set default apps.

This surprised me as well. My partner has always been a pretty big Apple fan from the time I first met her. iPhones, iPods, Macbook Airs, iPads, Apple TV. After seeing me use my Nexus 5 for a while she said "You know, I think my next phone will be one of those Google ones - they just seem smarter to me".

I nearly fell off my chair.

Haha, I am getting the same thing from my gf. She's started to hate her iPhone since I got my Note, and now she's actually urging me on to go out and look at a Nexus 5. It looks like we're in danger of becoming one of those silly synchronized outfits-couples with one N5 each :D

similar but different story here. I always had apple products and my GF had a terrible droid when I first met her. I got her on the apple train and then switcher to the nexus line. She now cannot stand her iphone 5 and cannot wait to switch to the n5.

Don't really text much as WhatsApp is more used.

But I've been using Hangouts and agree that it's a rather backwards app. Probably going to stop as nobody I know even uses Google Talk.

Shame. I can see it improving, but to what?
