I do but after a week or two of using the N5 it feels extremely weird to use an iPhone so I guess I'm used to it?

I don't think it helps being left handed either. If I was holding the phone in my right hand I could comfortably wake it with my thumb then use without readjusting.

I have average sized hands and I couldn't reach the wake button with my right thumb and then use the phone without shifting my hand down.

Still loving my original launch Nexus. Sound has improved for me with the update. Only annoying thing is I can't adjust the notification and ringer volumes separately.

Now contemplating wether to stick with AT&T or switch to T-Mobile since both have excellent coverage in my area.

My experience with my Note 3 on T-Mobile, vs my Nexus 5 on AT&T is an eye opener and very pleasant. In my area both carriers have great coverage.

What I love about T-Mobile is I routinely use 6 to 7GB OF data on the unlimited plan with no throttling, it's every bit as fast as the speeds I get over AT&T.

It's not a finance charge. T-Mobile simply charges a higher price for the phone.

It IS a finance charge of sorts.

You buy from google and you pay all at once. You buy from T-Mobile and the payments are spread out over two years. You can't really expect them to give two years to pay without any additional cost. If t-mobile demanded the full price upfront I'd agree that they were just charging more, but the user is getting something in exchange for that higher price. Whether that extra cost is worth it is debatable, that's up to the customer to decide.

Do you find that you have to shift your hands to use the N5 after waking it? One of the worst things about the HTC One IMO is that you need to reach up to wake the phone and then shift your hand down to use it. (If you use one hand.)

I don't shift my hand much with my left hand and with my right not at all. It does take some adjusting coming from an iPhone but I've gotten used to it and now it's not an issue.

Try Falcon for twitter. Its a great app and the the only android twitter client that comes close to tweetbot.

I can't imagine you'd pay less for unlimited data with AT&T than you would with T-Mobile. $70 for unlimited everything is a steal! Especially if you get T-Mobile's LTE in your area.

Not available anymore via Google Play, and will need to side load in addition to a lengthy method to circumvent Twitter's token limit.

But it's worth it.

Perhaps you fail to read. It is NOT interest.

T-Mobile terms specifically outline the agreement. I know from first hand experience, I bought a Galaxy Note 3 as part of the Jump Program. The monthly payments are zero interest and the price of the phone was only $705. That's a full $50 less than most other sources, a tidy savings indeed. :)

Correct!

T-mobile simply splits up the total cost of the phone, minus your downpayment if there is one, into equal monthly payments. Wether you take the full 2 years, pay it all up front, or pay it of early, you are paying the same amount. Zero Interest.

Funny, I didn't say it was interest. Since they're giving you two years to pay and not charging interest, the price markup is their way of making that money instead of calling it interest.

Do you really expect them to do a two year payment plan with no interest and the same price as the vendors who demand the whole payment upfront?

You do realize that they have to pay for the phones. Do you think the manufacturer gives them two years to pay, just because t-mobile is letting end users do that?

The "price markup" you see from T-mobile and Sprint direct, isn't a markup, rather Google subsidizes the price of the Nexus 5 from their own store.

Same thing with Amazon. Currently it is $489 for a 32GB on there, but Amazon has the list price as $600, which might be a bit of an exaggeration, I don't know. But it certainly performs like a $600 phone.

thx for the help.

Any tips about how set HQ contact images?

I think you have to delete the contact photos and re-upload HD versions. Because i believe back in the day when Android did not support HD contact photos the pictures uploaded at that time got turned to 256x256 resolution so these pictures get stretched in the newer versions of Android and look horrible.

Edit- Just tried it myself as i had some pixelated pictures on my contacts as well and it worked great.

Any comments about the headphone audio output of the Nexus 5? This was a big flaw with the G Pro. The G Pro at 100% was roughly equal to the S4 or iPhone 5 at 75%.

On rooted stock you can use the xposed framework with the gravitybox module to do this and much more as well.

Am I the only one who finds it a lot more comfy texting in vertical mode than horizontal? In horizontal i find the travel between each keys a lot larger than in vertical. The screen feels too wide when texting in horizontal. Too much travel going from left to right and so on. More travel = less comfy, slower typing.

In vertical the keys are a lot smaller and boy pretty much minimal travel.

When i had an iphone, it was the opposite, i found vertical too small and horizontal perfect.

I type in portrait when gravity is working for me. If I am laying in bed on my side or on my back, the skinny bezels actually make it more difficult to type in portrait.

I am wondering why the 16GB Nexus 5 (both colors) are still listed as out of stock? It has been close to three months since the product was released and just a few weeks ago it was listed as backordered, now you cannot even order it. My dad is very tempted to order one for using on the T-Mobile LTE, but he does not need the storage capacity of the 32GB version.

Or, does this tie in to the rumors that the Nexus line is going to be discontinued?

The only time I use my phone horizontally is when watching videos. This was the case with my iPhone too. I really hate browsing the web and/or typing in landscape for some reason.

First app I downloaded was one to lock rotation to portrait easily.
