To me it's not the screen size that decides whether or not I feel the device is too big. It's the size of the phone as a whole. Going by the renders made so far, the N6 will be wider than the 6 Plus but also significantly less tall. That tells me that the phone isn't humongously big in any way. About the same size as a 6 Plus - just wide instead of tall.
The thickness we know nothing about. The photo tells us nothing because there's a case on the device. But this will of course be a decider. If the N6 turns out to have a similar middle-to-edge thickness ratio of the Moto X (thick in the middle, very thin at the edges), then I'll personally be fine with the size.
In terms of aesthetics, the renders make it look like nothing more than a swollen Moto 4 2014. I'm not in love with that. But we all know how much very small details can change things. Some of the iPhone 6 dummys had slightly thicker side bezels than the real thing - a very small difference, yet the real phone looked so much better when it finally came. So I'm not going to pass judgement because of a few renders based on rumours or partial information.
I'm really excited to see this thing. If they've managed to squeeze a 6" screen into a footprint no larger than a slightly wider and perhaps thicker Note 4 with a rounded back, then I'm game. Given that Android L doesn't turn out to be crap of course.
