This 5.9" Nexus is supposed to have really small bezels, and the overall footprint will be no larger and no heavier than the iPhone 6 Plus, but while still having the larger display.

Rumor has it, if you can handle a iPhone 6 Plus, then this new Nexus will be just as easy and better due to the curved back.

Here is a comparison of large phones about the same size of the rumored 5.9 Nexus. The 5.9 inch Nexus would be about the same size as the Lumia 1520 which is 6 inches.
IP6+ Lumia 1520, Nexus 5, Moto X 2nd gen

That diagram seems really off. There is no way that render of the n6 is a 6" screen unless it is as wide as a boat.

edit: NM that is a moto x on the end haha.

An intentional leak would not shock me. Google leaked the nexus 5 in a kitkat promo video they made last year.

Agreed. Did the phone look smaller to you? I'm over 6 feet and can't hold an iPhone 6 Plus like that...

Thats a magnificent looking beast and it seems to corroborate all what we heard so far with the dual front facing speakers and screen size. My wallet will be gearing itself up for this:D.

What do you think Google will price this phone at if this is indeed the next Nexus?

$400 for 16GB? $450 for 32?

Think they will drop 16GB as base for the Nexus 6 but preserve it for the 5 or if be it refreshed 5. I'm guessing your figures are in the ball park but for a 32GB & 64GB models. At least i'll be on dreamland if that's the case.

So what's the attraction of such a large phone? All across online forums and blog sites, the consistent criticism I see about the iPhone 6+ vs. it's most obvious competitor is that it's just a bigger phone, that it doesn't offer any additional functionality over its smaller counterparts like the Note series does over the Galaxy S line.

I'm curious to see what apologies those critics make towards this phone, which will honestly offers less advantage vs. the iPhone 6+, which can at least have it's apps formatted differently by developers to take advantage of the extra screen real estate.

And don't misconstrue my statements as a knock against having a phone with a larger display as just having a better web browsing experience is nearly enough to justify it for my use. Just curious if those critics will levy the same knocks on this device.

That's why I'll be picking up the Note 4 if this phone really is 5.9" device. I don't want a large phone just to have a large phone. Keep waiting for a leak of a 5.2" Nexus but nothing.. :(

I think the big deal would be that with this screen size Google would be giving the ok to developers to format their apps for large displays, just like apple did with the 6+. I think we'll start to see more developers take advantage and make better apps, which would give the larger phones more tablet like apps.

I know most people talk about the iPhone 6 Plus just being a larger iPhone because it doesn't have multi window, stylus, ect, I think it will be a unique and better experience as app developers format their apps for the larger display. That was one of the things that bugged me when I had the Note 3, in that other than apps made by Samsung (which IMO weren't that good), everything was just blown up.

I wouldn't hold your breath for developers to reformat their apps--most never did for the larger screen real estate on the Nexus 7. So many of my apps that would offer a great tablet experience on the iPad would just be scaled up versions of the phone apps. If devs wouldn't actively do it for the Nexus 7, I don't expect to see things change for the Nexus Phablet. Hell, the Note series will outsell it 10-fold and has been a big seller for the past few years, but that hasn't forced developers hands yet.

It's hard to say. If he has large hands, it's massive. Small hands its great.

$349 for 16gb and $399 for 32. I could see them offering 32 and 64 stock at the same price point.

I think I'll be replacing my Galaxy Nexus with the Nexus 6.
I'm convinced that Google is doing some special software features in order to use a big phone one handed. If not they'll do something in the update after 'L'.
I did a cardboard cutout of the LG G Pro 2 which is similar sized to the N6 and 6+ and it fits all of my pants just fine.

Even if can't use it one handed i'm fine with that, smartphones are more computer than phone.

Someone carved a Nexus 6 out of wood and compared against the Nexus 4 and 7
http://phandroid.com/2014/10/01/nexus-6-wood-carved-mockup-sized-against-nexus-4-and-7/

LOL this awesome

For one last illustration, you can see the phone in reference to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus with the Nexus 6 size calculated using the same method above. The small bezels help keep the overall size down, measuring in just a hair smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus.

Will the Moto Nexus use an amoled screen? Looking at the two leaked photos of the front of the phone, blacks don't look black.. looks like an lcd display?

5.9" screen and it's SHORTER than the iPhone 6 Plus? Love that it's the same width though. The Plus is a joy to hold.

I heard 5.9 inch rumors and immediately passed it off as way too big but if it's seriously shorter than the 6 plus and the same width that's actually shockingly very manageable. I'm really surprised but I'm actually considering waiting for this phone now.

Crossing fingers for a non crap camera, great battery life, and at least 64 gbs of storage!

Rather have an sd card slot but we know google won't do that.

I know chances are slim but I'm still hoping for a 5.2 inch variant. This leaked phone looks massive and I sincerely hope this isn't the next Nexus.

I was kind of hesitant with the Nexus 5 too because of the size, but it was okay in the end. A 6 inch screen is just way too much for me.

If this indeed is the next Nexus, I'm gonna have to find an Android alternative. Currently on a 5S and the iOS restrictivness is starting to annoy me.

This sums up my feelings as well. I was ready to jump from an iPhone 5 to a Nexus 6 but if the rumors are true, then the size is to big for me. I may end up with an iPhone 6.
