I see. That seems highly unnecessary. It'll likely increase the price of the device, too.
yea I'd rather have a 1080p screen with no issues than a qhd screen with surely some kind of quirk

Technically, isn't QHD actually 2K (as in 2X HD 720p resolution of 2560x1440) while 4K is used to designate 3840x2160 or 4096x2160?
Motorola event happening Sept 4th.
It's really going to come down to the MX+1 and Nexus 6 this year, I think. And if the Nexus 6 is based off of the MX+1, it'll be interesting to see which way people will lean between the two. They'd both, in theory, be very very similar, especially now that Motorola has been so good at updating to the latest OS versions. Price might be a factor. Custom colors for the MX+1 might be a factor.

Thats my thought as well. Whichever i get, my Nexus 5 goes to the Wife. Id still like to get a Windows phone as well though. Just dont know what id want since the 930 isnt an option so i may wait to see what comes next.

These are my two choices as well with a slight edge to the Nexus. Pure Google, no bloat, and wireless charging topping the list.
Well, I'm don't know specifically but quad HD wouldn't be incorrect as most descriptions I read, HD is 720p and Full HD is 1080p.

The results confirm some items that we have known, like the Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) processor clocked at 2.7GHz, the 3GB of RAM, the display resolution, and the 13-megapixel rear camera.
Bummer about that 5.9" screen. Hopefully there's an update to the Nexus 5 as well, but not looking likely.
Hope the Moto X+1 delivers or else it's back to the iPhone 6. I love everything about my MX, but I can't stand the camera.

5.9 screen would put me off. Give me top specs on 4.7-5" and I'm happy. They need to rethink this its a new year, so we must up size as well just for the sake of it..... 5.9" is way way too big. The Lumia 1520 is a lovely phone but the practicality of carrying a device that size as your primary daily device was too awkward for practicality sake.
I really don't see why google would do this. They already have low sales numbers. Which I know does not matter because it's the nexus program, but they have been getting bigger and bigger releases each year. Why would they hurt that by offering a 5.9" phone? I think that would kill sales. That is just way to big.
