These don't really work, certainly not as well as Safari on iOS. I still get a ton of ads.
Weird they work almost perfectly for me although the web rendering can be strange with some blank spaces where the ads are.

Yeah the most flawless adblocker is Purify for Safari. If you want an equivalent on Android, you will have to root the phone and modify the hosts file.I still like the Android one because adblock works on all apps throughout the OS.On iOS Purify only works in Safari.Ads in apps are not blocked but its not as refined

I just installed my Intelliarmor screen protector and I'd not recommend it since it doesn't cover the whole width of the visible screen. I don't think I'll be able to take it for very long

Playing with my father's pixel. How come I can't exit a picture in the Photos app by pressing the back button???? Please tell me this is a glitch of some sort.

I have to use the upper left back button. What the heck?

Also noticed I can't back out of the app either like I can other apps.

Edit: reboot fixed it. Glitchy on day one; not good.

Strange glitch ....

The only issue I have found on mine seems to be what others have mentioned and that's CHROME ... Now normally it wouldn't bother me as I tend to use app portals (banks or shops) for most websites and external services I want to access, however I have now ran into a couple of websites that simply do not like Chrome at all ....

Anyone know when Netflix VR is due to be released? It's one of my main reasons for purchasing the headset.

There's not a huge amount of content right now in the Daydream app but what is there is pretty good. Compared to the Gear VR is quite nice. I particularly like how light weight it is and the controller is so much better than using buttons on the headset itself.

Impressive little device, the Pixel is.

Yet I can't commit to it. I'm off the fence and it's a no. I can't look at it without being reminded of all the things it could have and should have been. Waterproofing. Better speakers (I mean, they're only marginally clearer and louder than the s7 edge, and the s7 has waterproofing. It has to be asked again, how did this happen with HTC at your disposal?). No wireless charging -- something that Google and the Nexus were apart of. Wireless charging shouldn't have been dropped and could've been a continued marquee feature of Google. There's so much that this phone could've been.

Sure, the software experience is terrific. Obviously faster and smoother than my s7 edge, but the difference is slight. Whereas the hardware difference is far greater. Pixel owners will really appreciate getting Android O first, but that isn't coming for almost a year. Until then, the s7 edge is the better device day to day.

An $815 (128gb model after taxes) upgrade shouldn't be a trade off of features. It should be an upgrade in as many places as possible, and that just isn't the case coming from an s7 edge.

Glad I waited to try out my father's pixel before I committed. Kudos to Google for a great first gen device.

I got my pixel a few days ago and the Camera really is as good as everyone is saying. It blows me away everytime I use it. Battery is fantastic on the 5 inch model I have as well. Heard the XL is even better on the battery.

All those hardware issues will almost certainly be resolved for the Pixel 2.

I would love to pick up a Pixel now, but my S7 Edge means I can't justify it. But the Pixel 2 will be my next phone, I'm quietly confident of that.

The question is whether it's worth premium price, and I'm sure the P2 will be. This one is a toss-up, so unless it comes down in price by Feb/Mar, then I'll just sit it all out for a year!

And my gold nexus 6p has me not justifying the Pixel's price either. Really, how far will the Pixel XL price have to drop to justify it over the 6p? The latter was a good upgrade over the Nexus 6, the Pixel XL not so much over the 6p to justify it.

Awaiting the second Pixel.

Excellent points. Next year the Pixel 2 will be rocking the SD830 which is supposed to be a BIG TIME update, way more efficient, runs cooler, and is faster. It should give a nice battery life increase and still be fast and not heat up

Plus I'm sure they'll add either waterproofing and or wireless charging.

Right now I still have my Nexus 6P, running a 7.1.1 ROM, and this phone is screaming fast smooth. I can in no way justify dropping $800+ on the Pixel XL over this 6P, for what ? Better camera and display ? Bwaah I don't care, the 6P does a great job as is.

If anything I'd get a 7 Plus once a Jailbreak is out to play with something different.

MKBHD review is up.

Essentially what a lot is have said, the pixel is more than a just a combination of parts.

[doublepost=1479117253][/doublepost]Updated beach photo with a higher res upload #1874 Looks great as a wallpaper ;)

He always has the best reviews. I like the way he has the new MacBook casually sitting in the background.
