I've got an XL with five cases and a Daydream VR up for sale if anybody is tired of waiting for Google to get their **** together.
If you ask me right now as of January 30, 2017 what's the best Android phone out right now ? My answer would easily be the Google Pixel XL.
But...
This phone is the frigging white unicorn, does not exist.
Verizon shows it back ordered for two months well into March, and Play Store always has it on back order continuously, with an e-mail sign up alert. Best Buy stopped selling the XL at end of December.
So what the hell is really going on here ? I've read articles on Android Police, and other tech sites recently, complain about the lack of stock, and no updates or answers from Google or HTC as to what's going on. It's a big mystery as to why the XL is always out of stock now, four months after release. In the U.S. the XL is just not to be found anywhere in stock for sale right now.
Soon enough the next gen 2017 flagships will be here, the Galaxy S8, and LG G6. Once those two phones hit stores in March and April, the Pixel line will be last years news and all but forgotten.
Good job Google, really good going trying to get a high end flagship out to the masses. It lasted maybe three good months before the phone disappeared. And then they just release it on one U.S. carrier only ? Google if your trying to be like Apple and Samsung, the phone needs to also be on ATT, T-Mobile, and Sprint, and in stock in all the stores. Otherwise just forget this game your playing, you lost.
At this point I would recommend the OnePlus 3T to people looking at the Pixel XL, the spec's are very similar, and runs a near stock like OS, but is half the price. And you can actually buy it right now. But your SOL if your on Verizon and Sprint.
Why the XL exclusively?
My new setup..
Strange. If it was working previously with the pixel perfectly, then I would suggest the issue isn't hardware related but software. What app are you using to listen to music, and have you tried a simple clean turn on and turn off of the device.well after using pixel for more than a month.. suddenly im experiencing the dreaded bluetooth skipping on my bose headset.. i dont know why before i dont have this and now all of a sudden.. my bluetooth skipping is very bad.. once it starts u can barely understand the song...
this bose headset im using since iphone 6 days...
Could be a compatibility issue. Try using Google play music just to see if it does same. If it doesn't you know it's black player and possibly an update has broken it and may require another to fix.im using black player.. when turn off and turn on again... if will fix for a while but will still come back...
its annoying...
i dont have issue on my s7 eversince...
same BT headset..
Hopefully the Feb patch might address the issue, if not I would be sure to talk to a Google support advisor as that should definitely not be happening.Tried it today.. still same.. once its starts skipping it will continue and i need to off and on the phone to break the skipping issue.. it will be working fine after quite sometime and skipping will be back again... This is annoying....
Just a heads up for those worried about screen burn in or those that simply don't like the black navbar when using apps. I downloaded a cool app which allows you to customise the nav bar and make apps feel more full screened. I even pixel coloured mine.

The camera on the Pixel is the best I have seen on a smartphone....bar none. I continues to amaze me!
Yeah it really is a great camera. Google's post processing has come a million miles over the years and the step from the Nexus to the Pixel in camera tech really is massive. The camera on the Pixel is the best I have seen on a smartphone....bar none. I continues to amaze me!
Great shot MRU
