Oooh I see the lens flare!! ;)
[doublepost=1484921781][/doublepost]

I think you'll like it!!

Just remember that it will take at least a couple of weeks to fully acclimatise to Android. There will be things you like, don't like, miss from iOS etc...

But it's always great to at least see what the other side is offering. I was on iOS for 5 years, now been on Android 3.5 years.

I always try to use platform agnostic apps/services so that I can switch if I feel like it.
Lol ..

I too use agnostic apps. Nearly all the apps I have installed are pretty much identical whether iOS or Android. Its what makes for me swapping between them so easy :)

I've swapped my 3T for the Pixel with my dad so I can thoroughly test it, though if it's anything like what I went through, I won't get to the bottom of it anytime soon.

It randomly rebooted last night, too. Just insane that this is happening. There is no obvious indication or anything causing it to reboot. I just looked down last night, and it was doing the Google white load screen. Absolutely weird.

I guess stock vs supply. There wouldn't be enough stock or an excess of supply current to justify a sale which only leads to more strain on supply.

They still have issues with supply? Cmon Google. You've been in the game for years....

The rebooting may have something to do with "dual system image..."

[doublepost=1484943514][/doublepost]Question: how do I roll back to 7.1? Does a factory reset bring it back to its original software?
Yeah do a factory reset, I'd also try and get into recovery and do a wipe cache partition also.

Thanks. I'll try it this weekend.

Sigh, Google.
[doublepost=1484950392][/doublepost]Actually, @MRU , are you sure? I'm reading online that a factory reset will not restore an old version of Android.

Others have reported though that the factory rest at least fixed the issue for them so given your random reboots I would do a factory rest anyway and definitely the cache partition wipe in case there is residual files causing the issue / conflict.

Using the pixel again makes me kind of miss it. And funnily, my father is liking the 3T (bigger screen).

Just have to get to the bottom of this random reboot thing.

Is that the Pixel or the XL? Think it's worth the price bump in the 3T, specifically for the camera?

Great photos, especially the first one. What's video like, find the 3T lacking in the camera and the mic quality.

Standard 5" Pixel. Honestly the second shot came out surprisingly well given the mist/fog that was at top of the mountain. The haze at the front is actually mist, about 2 minutes after photo was taken you couldn't even see the cross ...

I've been very happy with the pixel camera experience but I generally have decent camera experience with most flagships I've bought last while. Still the reliability of the pixel is up there with the S7 and iPhone and doesn't do the over-sharpening that Samsung implements.

As for 3T ... honestly I haven't tried that device or camera, but given the massive price difference if your happy with everything else on the 3T then in all honestly No it isn't worth the difference ...

The camera is the part that's stopping me from really liking the phone.

Android vs iOS, I'm fine with. I made another thread about finding it difficult to let go of my 6S, but it's purely due to the camera. And this Pixel, though more expensive than the 3T, is pretty much the same spec, smaller package, quick charge and a better camera. Might take the plunge and return this, sell the iPhone and go Pixel.

I will say since getting the pixel it has become my main goto device and my iPhone 7 sits is resigned to secondary and for calls / messaging clients.

Even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with the iPhone 7, I just enjoy the Pixel and Android Nougat a bit more currently :)

That's how I'm feeling. Couple of apps I miss and it's weird not having FaceTime and iMessage, but I'm loving Nougat, so much better than when I was on Lollipop.

And the camera is really selling it to me.

How well does the fingerprint scanner work, have you tried Android Pay?

Funny because I'm between pretty much the same phones. The Pixel, OP3T or iPhone 7/7 Plus. I honestly can't decide but I have to pick one. I'm actually leaving Pixel or iPhone just because of the camera. The OP3T camera seems pretty nice, but I really want the cream of the crop. And that is worth the extra to me.

So then it comes down to OS. I prefer Android for the flexibility and iOS for the stability/reliability/support.

Tough call for sure.

Android Pay only just launched here in Ireland, however my bank is not supported. Not even sure any bank here is yet as I've tried two different ones.

Fingerprint scanner for PayPal, PlayStore and screen lock works great though.

I've used Android Pay pretty extensively (live in California), and it's been flawless. The fingerprint scanner is as good as iPhone Touch ID. In general Android Pay is actually faster than Apple pay in that you simply unlock your phone, place near scanner, done. Whereas Apple Pay needs then prompt to pop up when near the scanner, and then you scan your fingerprint. However I prefer Apple Pay because I feel like it's more secure due to requiring your fingerprint to pay vs simply unlocking the phone.

i left ip7plus camp for pixel xl... i would say... camera is really nice.. nougat is faster than iOS10..(sorry iphone)
if 3T is having same camera experience as pixel.. i will sell my pixel XL for it...
but hell NO... 3T camera is slow..it cant capture my son.. quality is not comparable to pixel xl..(i can see more details on my pixel photos than the 3T photos)
camera speed on iphone 7 plus and pixel is almost same... (instantaneous)... 3T camera is slower compare to pixel camera...

i have 3 priority on choosing a phone..
1. camera
2. battery life
3. Speed

if you will ask.. is the price difference between 3T and pixel XL is worth it?
i would say YES... (for me) lol..
i will not compare with s7.. coz i also have s7 as my company phone...

Ultimately, I would argue yes too. But the 3T value allows me more options for the upcoming flagships in 2017.

That's sort of the problem with releasing your flagship at the end of the year, as Google often does. The new ones are right around the corner with the turn of the year. With that in mind, the Pixel doesn't quite cut it. This generation isn't good enough to satisfy me for an entire year pass the s8 and potentially the iPhone 8.

This is where the extra money really doesn't matter for me. I want photos to be sharp and be a pleasure to look back on. When everything else in my use case could be done on many phones cheaper, that extra £300-400 is nothing if it delivers priceless memories.

I've been down the 'save a ton of money' avenue and either shooting new pics, or looking back at my efforts, makes me wish I'd had that extra quality to get a better shot. In that respect, I'm inclined to spend on the 7 Plus, Pixel, or S7.

Max Lee, of High on Android, recently did a few 3T vs Pixel videos looking at noise, HDR, etc. Whilst the 3T is good with noise reduction, it didn't really stack up with sharpness, exposure and detail. The final low light shot of his child in one video was confirmation OnePlus still have a long way to go with their camera and software.
