New photo and info on the LG model:

Earlier today, we told you that the new Nexus 5 (2015) could be called the Nexus 5X and come with a price tag of $399 for 16GB of storage, and $449 for 32GB of storage. The new Nexus models are expected to be unveiled on September 29th. That includes the LG made Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6.

We've seen renders before, allegedly showing off the Nexus 5X. Today, a new photograph has surfaced that shows a little more than half of the front of the phone. And we have to say that it looks very much like the aforementioned renders that we saw of the device last month.

Some specs were also mentioned with the photo. The handset will be equipped with the Snapdragon 808 SoC, which means it will carry a hexa-core CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU. 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM is inside and there is a 12.3MP rear camera. On front, you will find a 5MP snapper ready to take selfies and host video chats, and there will be a fingerprint scanner allowing the device to work with Android Pay. Lastly, the Nexus 5X will feature a plastic build. We imagine that Android 6.0 will be pre-installed on the phone. Earlier rumors suggested that the handset will sport a 5.2-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution.

Can't tell if it's in a case or not? Because all the rumours stated a metal frame? I hope this is still true. 12.3mpx camera should be a good one, better than the Nexus 5 anyway.
It looks to be a very close match to the renders:

Well, this should be the dream phone for all the people complaining about "too thin" IPhones :)

I'm really undecided between the new nexus and new moto style, being an android noob(having iphones) i still don't know how big Android M will be.

Tbh honest if I were going from iPhone to Android, I think I'd just go with Motorola in terms of software. It's the most "iPhone-like" experience, in my opinion. In terms of transition.

Thanks for your input. To be honest i would already pre-ordered the style but being with iphones so many years i'm somewhat spoiled when it comes to software updates and i don't know how i would react when 6 comes out and i will still be on 5.1.1 for at least another 3 months ;(. But i don't know, design wise i dig motorola more than nexus. I'm trying to resist as much as possible before making a purchase but i had to give my main iphone and now being on a 4s it's just a frustrating experience software wise and display size wise. I don't know how much i will resist :D

Decisions...decisions..

Well the Motorola will be at a great price point at least, so if you really don't take to it, you won't lose out much.

Regarding software updates, my LG G3 last year got Lollipop the same day as the Nexus devices, and it worked well too. I'd think Motorola wouldn't have too much to do so maybe they could get their software update out quickly.

Samsung would take months for sure! I switched from 5 years of iPhones to Android just under 2 years ago now. Tbh it would take a lot to get me to switch back, but never say never :D

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Leak...exus-5-2015-and-its-1.8mm-camera-hump_id73511

A couple of days ago, we showed you an alleged leaked image of the upcoming LG-made Nexus 5 (2015), which is also rumored to bear the Nexus 5X name. We got to see the the laser autofocus, the two-tone flash, the camera, as well as the fingerprint reader of the device.
As you probably know by now, there will also be camera hump at the back of the phone. Thanks to a new leak that shows us the profile of the phone, we get to see exactly how much said volcano-shaped hump might be protruding from the device. Note that while the images look like your usual render, it is claimed that they are actually images of the real deal that have been edited so as the protect the original source.
According to the leaked dimensions of the handset - 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm - it's fairly easy to deduct that the hump will be 1.8mm tall. On top of that, the handful of leaked images allegedly depicting the Nexus 5 (2015) seemingly confirm the hump won't be taller than the one on the render right below.
As a refresher, the device is expected to feature a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and - of course - Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It might get unveiled on September 29 and cost $399 at launch.

Cool, I always liked that white back and black front, looks very Stormtrooper :) Curious as to the display, as I've never found LG's IPS / LCD screens to be that great, they can look washed out, and have poor viewing angles. And this being a budget friendly phone, not sure they'll put their best display tech in it, but we'll see.

Battery life with the 2,700mAh battery should be ok, if the screen is 1080p, but if it's 1440p that battery won't cut it.

And again, no news on the Huawei Nexus ? Where are the leaks on the supposed high end Nexus beast ?

Well, their is a possibility my original theory is right. And that is that the LG Nexus 2015 comes with the brand new SnapDragon 620 SOC as they are released. And the Huawei Nexus 2015 will use the SnapDragon 820 SOC and as a result won't be released until next year hence the lack of leaks.

As I said it's just a theory, but it's a nice one :)

well the 6s has been revealed and it is truly impressive

however, $750 for 64gb 6S versus likely $450 for higher storage tier lg Nexus
main advantages on the 6S would be the camera (surely will be highly superior) and the processor (gaming is probably where you will feel it most). Build quality as well, but that is much lower on my priority list and I am happy to compromise there.

I think I will take the lower quality camera and save the dough, I doubt I will notice the difference in processor capability with my use case.

Doesnt look like iOS has any kind of shared storage between apps or the ability to add attachments to replies so I would want a jailbreak on the 6S too.

/rambling tangent

TLDR

looks like Im ordering the largest storage lg Nexus on day one

Cheers!

Impressive is a bit far fetched, no? The Force touch feature is really the only thing that stood out to me.
Im assuming it has 2gb ram as well, but the 6S should be future proofed for a loong time. It should be the new iphone 4S

It should be blazing fast, so fast you dont really need it to be that fast :p

I think the 6S/+ is a good update for the iPhone. However, I definitely don't see anything that makes me need to have it over the S6. Some updates were looong overdue.

3D Touch is nice, but nothing that is a must have. And to me, more important than emulating long press or second click is the fact that 3D Touch allows apps to ALMOST act like widgets. Actionable stuff directly from the app icon. That's what's cool about 3D Touch. But again, nothing that is a must have or must buy feature. Widgets still > 3D Touch.

But again, good update for the iPhone.

Personally, I don't think either the 5X nor the 6S will sway me away from my S6 this year.

Really surprised on the lack of solid good leaks on the supposed Huawei Nexus 6X

The LG Nexus 5X has leaked all over, with good pictures, spec;s, pricing, etc...

The Huawei is all but rumors right now, nothing concrete like the LG Nexus. Makes me question if there will even be a 5.7" Huawei Nexus this year ? Google has never released two different Nexus phones at the same time, only one.

I think the 6S is an UTTER joke, purely because it has 4K recording and 16 GIGABYTES of storage for the usual high Apple tax. I mean are you going to record 5 minutes of 4K video at a time on your 12GB you have then upload it to the cloud, then repeat?

I'm not for the 16 GB phone, but if anybody is going to risk having that little storage, then they would probably have the brains not to record in 4K. That's why they have 1080p and 720p as an option. If you want to record in 4K, that's what the higher 64 and 128GB models are for aren't they?

We are now two weeks away from the supposed Nexus announcement on Sept. 29th, and nothing new regarding the Huawei Nexus this month, while the LG Nexus 5X we've seen pics, spec's, price, etc...

Not sure we will see this phone this year. Looking like the LG is their one and only Nexus phone release this Fall, which makes sense, the LG Nexus 5 was very popular, it was a comfortable size and affordable price.

I personally would have loved to see a Note 5 sized and build quality in a Nexus.

Where? All I've heard are reports debunking a 5.5-inch Nexus, because there was a rumour suggesting that it would, rather than 5.7 inches as most reports claim.
