Bingo, and there in lies the problem. Nexus may be a "developer" line however its pushed and advertised in stores like a normal consumer device. I've had friends that have bought them as the AT&T store etc would just talk about it like it was a phone and nothing about developing etc. The friends would beotch and moan, from the camera being crappy, horrible batter life, to many many glitches and bugs. I've owned a couple of them and each time I regretted it, even with a custom Rom just didn't care for the phones.Yes, the Nexus is first and foremost for developers, but the Nexus tablets have always been sold in stores next to all the other tablets aimed at consumers. It was the same with the Nexus 6, I can walk into Carphone Warehouse and it will be on the display next to the other phones.
So here in the UK at least the Nexus range are sold along side other consumer products. So to me its a developers platform that's aimed at consumers also.
Anyway, the battery life of the new LG Nexus will be fine if they keep a 1080p screen and increase the battery size from the Nexus 5. But it won't be Sony good. The camera I is what I've been trying to figure out, it could have strong hardware but as we know it'll run stock Android camera software. And that's a worry.
On my Nexus 5 the camera was improved to being pretty good for what it is, but then updates seemed to make it slower and it refocuses a lot more. Maybe Android 6 will improve it? But it is a worry.
You or I and others online pry know what the Nexus was really targeted for, unfortunately the masses don't and just think its a normal phone and regardless of being told of faster updates etc, doesn't mean much when updates on the Nexus line are generally buggy as f' or fix somethings and then break other things in the update lol. Just look at XDA, Nexus boards are pry filled with more complaints and issues then any other board.
Kinda the same thing with the Nexus 9, returned two of them for well known faults and issues. I just wish Google would get their act together and really do something with the Nexus line as it has huge potential if they did, especially since its being pushed as consumer devices, even if that meant a price increase.
