The Nexus 6P camera scores pretty high in the latest DxO camera charts.
The 6S camera scores the same as the 6? That's interesting...
Kudos to the 6P.
Pedantic, but, 4 devices share 82 points. That graph is misleading. Three devices share 83 points yet have different bar heights. Three devices have 82 yet again different bar heights. They should all be the same. Seems very manipulative.
Only thing worth taking from it is there's very little different point wise to all the best smartphone cameras.

Nexus 5X and 6P take another cue from Motorola with quick motions to access the camera
Boy, I think full-metal phones are so overrated.
It means you have to find ways to fit the antennae/radio technology, which leads to ugly lines like on the iPhone 6/6S, and ugly giant black bar humps like that on the 6P.
It also means no wireless charging until the technology improves to bypass metal.
Wish manufacturers weren't so metal-obsessed. I'm all about metal frames, but all about glass backs. Xperia Z series, iPhone 4/4S, and the latest Galaxy lineups are unsurprisingly my favorite smartphone designs. Sleek, beautiful, and functional. Just don't drop it!
I agree with about the metal obsession. Metal is also a bad material for cold climates as I'd rather not handle a freezing cold phone during the winter. That said, I don't think glass backs are any better. They're more prone to breaking and add absolutely nothing to the phone.
The one thing I would like to see on phones is a back that has a material that helps with grip. The less chance of dropping the phone the better. OnePlus One and Nexus 5 did pretty good in this IMO.
The new Nexus 5X is just one more way too large phone for its screen size. Did the art of making small bezels somehow disappear after Nexus 5 and Galaxy S4?
In my view, glass is much more premium looking and feeling material. I like the smooth feel, and I like how phones like the newest Galaxy phones seem to change colour depending upon the light. My only gripes are that its a 'fingerprint magnet' in the exact words of every single reviewer, and that it makes my hand sweaty. But overall, I do want to see more glass phones.
I bought both of them. Lol. I am not sure which one I will keep.Who here is buying a Nexus 5X for their secondary phone? I am having some second thoughts and am willing to listen to folks if they have good experiences.
I got an invite to buy the one plus two the other day. How much are those? I haven't read anything about them. They don't. OnePlus messes up their launches every year.
I swear by Skinomi matte full body skins. They cover the entire back and sides of the phone, have a very nice grip to them, and you can hardly see them giving the illusion of a completely naked phone. Of course it's only for scratches, not drops, but that's why I have insurance and why I've taught myself to be extra careful when handling my phones.
The other thing that lends beauty to a phone is the design ethic. The iPhone has the beautiful all black front (grey models) which has no branding whatsoever. The back has the nice Apple logo, once again with no lettering, and in very small tasteful letters iPhone S. It just looks and feels classy. In contrast while the Samsung edge plus and Note 5 have beautiful glass backs, they destroy the phone by making it gaudy and cheesy. A huge Samsung logo on the front, ruining the entire front look. Having non black colors like the weird blue they have, producing an odd contrast with the screen while off. The multicolored edges with shiny bezels, and the back of the phone having yet more branding in huge letters and the phone model. It always confuses me, you paid $800 for the phone what purpose does the advertising do? Will it convince your buddy next to you to buy it? Also to contrast the Nexus P is a very nice front design, the lettering on the back is a bit huge for my taste, but it is tastefully done, although the black hump is distracting and seems out of place with the design language of the phone otherwise.
