How are you guys liking the 5X?

Like it, don't really love it. It was a great price but I have reconnected with my Nexus 6 (bout time I got OTA update) so I will probably send the 5x packing after the holiday. Besides that, I have a slew of other smartphones so I will eventually use the money towards other upcoming whims. :)

Also try disabling 5ghz wifi...I have a funny feeling this may be your problem.

Hmm, I will give this a try too. So far, using Chrome over beta hasn't seemed to impact it much. I had read somewhere else 5Ghz wifi may be an issue. I wonder why it would have such an impact on the Nexus but not on other devices I have? I have a fairly expensive high-end router, so I wonder what the benefit of 802.11ac is if you can't make use of it without negatively impacting battery.

I heard there is a bug with 5ghz WiFi and has been affecting some people. My router is cheap, only supports 2.4ghz lol. So I can't confirm or deny if ig is a problem.

I have an 2015 Apple Airport Extreme and leave 5ghz enabled on mine and have not had the issue, so it could be router related if it is a cause.

In some limited testing with 5ghz off, I'm seeing some improvement in battery drain. I'm estimating I'm up to about 4-4.5hrs now. About the same as I have been getting with a Samsung S6 Edge+ (maybe slightly less) and about what seems standard for most with the 6P, and up from the 3-3.5hrs I was getting. Still not great, but adequate. It's odd how my iPhone 5 from three years ago gets about the same battery as this. I would still love to know how these supposed battery tests run by review sites manage to get such astronomical battery life figures. I've seen claims from users on other sites and in reviews they get 7-8hrs screen-on-time with the 6P. I simply can't believe this after comparing it with my own experiences.

I'm using a Netgear R700 Nighthawk router, btw. All of my other devices work great with it, and I haven't noticed any additional battery drain on any of them. If there is a problem with wifi on the Nexus, I wonder if its a chipset/antenna issue or fixable with an update.

Another annoying issue I've had with the Nexus hardware is a hiss with headphones or bluetooth audio devices every time something is pressed on screen. I have interface and keyboard sounds off and it still does it. Hissing seems to be a common issue apparently.

4.5 seems more in line of what you should expect with the brightness you use. Many users, as well as myself use apps that takes advantage of amoled screens. My reddit and twitter app are both dark theme. Hence only the pixels with text is on. On reddit I can get 1 hr SOT every 10% = 10 hrs for 100%.

If you're into modding there are many roms and kernels that can easily get you 6-8 hrs SOT with no effort.

I doubt it is a chipset issue since the problem wasn't occurring on 6.0.

I ended up returning mines, and picking up my Note 4 for nearly $200 less. I don't know, maybe I am different, but I don't really care much for stock Android and prefer Touchwiz (preferably the S6 and Note 5 versions of it).

I liked my 5X I just found it too tall. I would have forgiven it if it had stereo speakers but it doesn't. It's as tall as the LG G4 for goodness sake.

The Nexus 5 (2013) in comparison is really compact and lovely to use in one hand but still has a large screen. In my opinion it is the perfect-sized smartphone, still.

Perhaps second to the G2 which is just phenomenal in how big the screen is and how small the device is at the same time.

Are you still using the N5 as your main phone? I am considering going from the 5X to the 5 because I too find the 5X just too big and from what I have seen the performance between the 5 and 5X is not very much. In fact, I have seen reports that say the 5 is actually faster because it doesn't have device encryption. I know I can for sure tell that my 5X is slower than my 6S. There are times when I tap on an app on my 5X and it hangs for a second before launching the app, or the app will open but take a second or two to load the contents.

Yup. The Moto X 2014 has a front speaker, same size screen and is significantly shorter.

And the X is also significantly thicker, 15% smaller battery and doesn't have a fingerprint reader. All those internal components have to go somewhere and if they want to keep it thin, there's only one other alternative.

Really awesome camera on the 6p. This is the new Bass Pro in Memphis, I also got some pics of it and video with my quadcopter. The perspective is making it not look big, that is an observation deck up top. The base is also not at the street level, it is much further down

Off topic, but why is a new Bass Pro designed like an ancient Egyptian pyramid ?

Nothing screams fishing like a structure that looks from the desert.

That used to be where the University of Memphis and Memphis Grizzlies played basketball and it was also a venue for concerts and other things. It was empty for a long time and Bass Pro took it over

Have any of you decided to stick with the 5X? I am still playing around with mine alongside my 6S and I am seriously considering switching to it an selling my 6S. Maybe I am just bored with iOS right now but this Nexus and Android 6 is really starting to grow on me. I just hate the idea of losing iMessage and FaceTime. A lot of the people I talk to on a daily basis use iPhones.
