In some limited testing with 5ghz off, I'm seeing some improvement in battery drain. I'm estimating I'm up to about 4-4.5hrs now. About the same as I have been getting with a Samsung S6 Edge+ (maybe slightly less) and about what seems standard for most with the 6P, and up from the 3-3.5hrs I was getting. Still not great, but adequate. It's odd how my iPhone 5 from three years ago gets about the same battery as this. I would still love to know how these supposed battery tests run by review sites manage to get such astronomical battery life figures. I've seen claims from users on other sites and in reviews they get 7-8hrs screen-on-time with the 6P. I simply can't believe this after comparing it with my own experiences.
I'm using a Netgear R700 Nighthawk router, btw. All of my other devices work great with it, and I haven't noticed any additional battery drain on any of them. If there is a problem with wifi on the Nexus, I wonder if its a chipset/antenna issue or fixable with an update.
Another annoying issue I've had with the Nexus hardware is a hiss with headphones or bluetooth audio devices every time something is pressed on screen. I have interface and keyboard sounds off and it still does it. Hissing seems to be a common issue apparently.
