The sky was more orange...film reacts differently to light when you push it to the limit. It's called reprocity failure and it's sexy.

Old CoolPix 5700

I took these in Victoria, BC with my old Nikon CoolPix 5700. It was a couple years ago so I don't remember the shooting info and I'm to lazy to look it up. (I believe it was mostly auto and 2-4 sec shutter)

Night Shot

I've enjoyed this thread, so I thought I'd throw my favorite night shot in the mix.

Here's my favorite night photo...night photography is a lot of fun and I try to get out there when I can. My nemesis is getting something good-looking involving stars.

Two night images I shot last year with snow, resulting in more reflected light. The first one has artificial lightning coming from street lights, and the second one is lit with bright moonlight only.

Zenith - I'm curious what you shot with for the second shot - body and lens, any filters?

oh wow!

Folks,

you have made my night!
Wonderful photos, and thank you for the modesty.
I'm sure we would like to see more.
(btw, how do you manage noise reduction in these long exposure shots?)
Inspiring,

Just set the lowest ISO speed possible, then, if you really need it, run Noise Reduction filter in Photoshop

Wow, I love a lot of these shots! Great work everyone!
It's so much fun to take night photos, I've probably got a dozen I'd like to show, but I don't want to be a post whore, hah.
I'll just show this one for now, since it was already uploaded.

I took it around 2am after prom two years ago, while I was at my girlfriend's house. She has a pond that's lit by a single floodlight on the far side. The green came out from the leaves being translucent.

I like it, it has an abstract sort of feel to it.
Haha, my shot I posted is called "Out There Somewhere"-- just saw your name.

Not really a night shot - taken in an underpass under the railway platforms at Temple Meads Station! :D

Here's another, haha. I've got like 10 more, if the thread lives on long enough.

Took this with my old (now dead) Nikon Coolpix 8800. It was FREEZING, especially for Georgia.

How ironic. This was my idea for the assignment and it didn't make the grade yet here is a thread on it. I guess I win in a round-about way. Guess I can post some stuff.

Nothing special, but the only night shot I know I have up online

This was one of my very first pictures with my D200- taken the day they hit stores. Stuck the camera on my dad's dashboard and hit the release button.
