LOL... just because of some of us decided to go with the S7 Edge/Note 7... we are not fans of iPhone's anymore? I think it's a good thing that Samsung are doing well with their line of phones this year. I still think it's a good thing if Apple loses some customers this year. If you are disappointed Apple's direction or with the upcoming phone after the key notes, then it's a good year to speak with our wallets and try something new. Then we all can look forward to next years iPhone's and see how Apple responds to regain their customers. I'm not leaving iOS, I still use my 6 plus... I don't have the Note 7, but Yes... I'll enjoy S7 Edge... and it's been a while since I actually enjoyed a phone this much.

"We"??? Since when are you the spokesman for the community? Speak for yourself.

Oh you MacRumors people are something else...
[doublepost=1471314259][/doublepost]
It's immature comments like this that leave many people thinking Apple enthusiasts are narcissistic dolts.

And how was my comment any more immature than the OP? Everyday we have another thread with someone saying they are going to jump ship because RUMORS aren't satisfying enough. Please.. I'll stick to reddit where the apple community over there aren't a bunch of "dolts".

I've gone back and forth between android and ios. Had a note 4 before and now an iPhone 6 plus

I love the look and screen of the Note 7 but love the ios ecosystem. My ideal phone would be a note 7 running ios. Why can't this be a reality???

If they make the iPhone 7 Apple Pencil supported, then it would be a reality

When the iPhone 7 is released, I will be one of those either in line or preordering it. And I'm getting the plus model in the largest storage size offered. I switched from BlackBerry on the iPhone 3GS model and have never looked back. I use the iPad Pro 12.9" AT&T 128 GB all the time. I split screen it, quite frequently. While I see the arguments for and against split screening an iPhone, there are pluses to it. Being able to answer a message without leaving the current app, being able to easily copy things from app to app. It has its pluses. Would it be challenging on an iPhone? You bet. Is it necessary? Probably not. I use the Apple Pencil, so much that I can't imagine using my iPad Pro without it. It would be neat if a single Apple Pencil could be synced to multiple devices and yes, used on the iPhone 7 Plus.

I have an S7 Edge right now and honestly the split screen stuff is kind of pointless on such a small screen IMO. The few times I have tried to use it, like for watching a video while doing something else, each side was just way too small. I'm actually planning on switching back to an iPhone when then 7 comes out as I just have too many issues with battery life and bugs, I pretty much have to reset my phone once a month to keep it running well.

Pencil support would be nice though

The pencil is great for a quick note, or to sign a document. It would be fabulous on the smaller screen. Some people are only seeing its advantages on the big iPads but it is even more valuable on that small screen. Especially when I try to sign something with my finger.

The iPhone 7 looks pretty underwhelming. Especially if you don't get the Plus model with dual cameras, you will be stuck with the smaller one without the flagship feature. The standout feature would be it comes in a "SPACE BLUE variant" WTF? The Note 7 has caught my eye and the only way Apple will get my money is that they make iPhone 7 support the apple pencil and that it has true multi tasking, not this phony app switching gimmick. Apple has really taken us for granted with the lack of innovative features. I know the Apple loyalist will say, "Why you need a waterproof phone? don't go swimming with your phone", "why you need a stylus? just use your pinky." "why do you need split view on an iPhone? just buy another iPhone."
Hope you don't get this.

I like multi window on my S7 edge. It's useful but it's not a deal breaker. In fact, the S7 is a lovely phone. I can't fault it but nothing that it offers is a deal breaker. The Apple ecosystem is a deal breaker for me so my S7 edge is going to be sold and I'll be getting the iPhone 7. I won't say that I'm coming back to Apple as I still kept my 6S plus.

I can envisage having similar problems to you with my edge at some point down the line which is why I kept my 6S plus. I was going to keep both but it's difficult to use two phones and get my money's worth out of the secondary device so I'll be getting the iPhone 7 plus.

Pencil support on the iPhone. I hope not, NEVER!

You don't have to use the pencil, just like you don't on the iPad Pro. Just because you don't have a use for it doesn't mean someone else won't either.
What does it matter to you, at all, if there's support for it? It doesn't affect you in any way. It's not physically connected to the phone/Ipad in any way like it is on the Note 7. It doesn't even have special functions that you'd otherwise be missing. I don't get intolerant people like you.

Pencil support for me is the sole reason I'd purchase a 7 Plus. I love ProCreate Pocket for sketching and drawing but fingers or a dodgy passive aftermarket stylus is not enough.

Ive been down this road. Pre-ordered the Note 7, received it on the 19th, returned it on the 27th.

On the plus side:
- Screen was ABSURD good. It was the one aspect that kept making me consider keeping it. Video looked unbelievably good on it
- Camera was fantastic
- LOVED the design. It was incredibly well built, attractive, and felt great in the hand.
- Android has improved a lot since the last Android phone I had
- Waterproof
- Pen features can be fun and super handy
- Pretty good battery life. I was getting through the day with about 50% battery left (moderate use)

Now, the things that made me return it:
- There has been a lot of hoopla about lag. Some people see it, some say they don't, for me it was hit and miss. Performance issues are something you come to expect over time with a Android phone. Six months to a year in they will generally get a little sluggish. Usually you just wipe it, start fresh, and you are good to go. In the first week I had keyboard freezing/lag where I would start typing and the keyboard would freeze then 5 seconds or so later it would suddenly catch up with what I had typed (stock keyboard). Crazy stuttering at times during plain old web browsing using Chrome, and while reading reddit (official app and Sync Pro). Other times the device was lighting fast.
- App crashes, several apps were crashing at least once a day during the week I had it.
- A small handful of apps (MoviePass, My Bank App, and one other one I cant quite remember which it was) I would get a screen overlay error message where I was not able to use the app until I disabled the ability of a undisclosed app to draw on top of other windows. Okay, then, I follow the prompt and go into those settings. Right out of the box there are already a couple dozen apps with this ability turned on. I had to go through and disable them, relaunch the app, rinse and repeat until I found the right one (Pro-Tip: it was Google Play Services). After you disabled it and launched the app, you could turn screen overlay back on and everything was fine.
- I underestimated how much I relied on iMessage for day to day conversation. I never realized how many people I communicate with regularly all had iPhones. Almost all of my co-workers, all my best friends, and the vast majority of my family.

There are a few other small things here and there that just made me miss my iPhone, and I will happily answer any questions the best I can for people who are considering it, but the Note 7 was a overall fantastic device. I personally really like Android, I just think for me, any Android device I may have in the future would have to be a Nexus device.

If you can part with some of the apple ecosystem specific features, the Note 7 is a great choice.

I have a right to my opinion and it stands. You seem to be the one that is intolerant;)

Try to relax as this is just a forum where people express their opinions.

Yeah, I've seen you post that everytime you reply to someone. "This is MY opinion and it's MY right". Yet at the same time you're always about "this is what I want, I don't care about anyone else!". Narcissistic much?
I don't care about a lot of features in iOS but if it's in there, is beneficial to others and makes it a more complete package then why on earth would I mind that it's in there?

I guess the question is whether there is any special hardware necessary in the iPhone needed to enable Apple Pencil support, and whether there would be any cost to implementing that hardware.

For example, Force touch sensors ended up making the iPhone 6S thicker and the battery smaller, for a benefit which doesn't seem to yet enjoy widespread acceptance and adoption. Do a poll and I won't be surprised if a significant portion of users wouldn't mind giving up force touch for a thicker battery, especially on the 6S.

I am not sure what sort of hardware was baked into the iPad Pro to make Apple Pencil support possible, and I am not sure if that same hardware could be included in an iPhone without compromising in other areas. That's the challenge when designing a product for the masses.

I have both. The Note 7 for personal and an iPhone 6s plus for work. Those speed tests are so unrealistic its hilarious. Who in their right mind are going to be opening and closing apps like what was done in the test. In normal use, you open an App, use it, open another window and use it, then close them. My Note 7 is smooth, fast and does way more than my iPhone. I use the spen all the time for work, etc. Think about when you see or think of something you need to remember, you can pull out the pen, write a quick note without even turning it on, pin it and it'll be there. It's the little things. The water resistance. I ride my bicycle in the rain, so I don't have to worry. Wireless charging is awsome. My iPhone is a brick, but the Note 7 has 5.7 and no bezel, it just feels good in the hand. I think if all these apple fans used a device that has so much, they would realize what they're missing. Until they do, they don't have a clue

Oh and I thought iris scanner would be a gimic, but it works faster than the fingerprint scanner. I turn my phone on, and before I know it, it's unlocked and I haven't done anything except look at it lol

Depends on the app. I use chase and fidelity and both work with finger prints, as does my at&t app for paying my bill.

You know what's underwhelming? the performance of the Note 7. the 6S spanks it in performance. Just saying ;)

Absolutely fantastic post! Like every device, it's going to have its issues.

I had myself convinced that I was going to upgrade to the Note 7 from my Note 5 and sell my iPhone 6s Plus. Then I used my 9 month old Note 5 as my daily driver for two days and abandoned that plan (and saved myself some money in the process).

It's the quirks you find in Android that can make it a frustrating experience. I swear I spent more time tweaking settings and searching for what google service was killing my battery at 10% per hour without using the phone at all.

Plus I never really thought about how many people I know that have iPhones and therefore iMessage. I look at family and friends and most that went to android in the past few years have come back to iOS.

The Note 7 looks nice, I can't argue with the hardware - it's pretty spectacular. But as nice as the hardware is, it's software that makes the experience. If it doesn't run properly, you have yourself a very nice paper weight.
