I have emailed Chloe and asked for a refund.

I don't like the 4 week delay. To be honest, I can see the delay being even longer and given I am also in Australia I can see shipping taking longer too.

I don't think we would see the dock before July to be honest.

I wrote them yesterday and have yet to receive any kind of response. I agree with the delays likely worsening. I also wanted to order the Pod but if they can't deliver the stand on time they will never be able to deliver the Pod on time.

I have just emailed this morning and asked for a refund.

There are cheaper options that are available now. Disappointed.

They didn't respond within the 24 hours that they committed to. I just e-mailed Chloe and Brian (presuming Brian's their president...or at least an executive) and asked them to either refund me or explain how they're going to hide the cable.

Stay tuned....

Yeah, same here. I am at about 48 hours with no response. I think they are getting slammed with cancellation requests!

Sounds like this delay announcement is going to hit them in the wallet pretty hard.

For me it's not the delay (don't get my watch until July - worst case scenario), it's that they changed the configuration. With the cable visible from the top, it loses a lot of the elegance they had.

(and, honestly, in today's age of computerized milling equipment, they have no excuse for not hiding the cable). It doesn't matter how thin the aluminum is on that side - people aren't going to be putting strain on these, it's not going to split.

"When the Apple Watch finally shipped last Friday, we found out there were two differently sized charging 'pucks'. One was quite a bit thicker than the original version we had designed the Stand. Because of this, our design team is working on the final stage of production to adapt the Stand to accommodate this larger puck while staying as close as possible to our original design principles. We will be sending out an email with a final production update next week so please do not publicly share this email as of yet! We'd like to announce to everyone.

I can assure you that the Stand will be just as sleek and impressive when you receive it!"

I just got this response to asking them about if the cable will show...

I agree, that the biggest turn off for me as well. I don't mind the wait if I get what was advertised. It looked so much more professional before.

Also finally got a response but only offered 15% when everyone else got 20%. I know it isn't a large difference but it's the principle of it that just adds to my frustration with them!

Don't share this email? They are frustrating and what are they trying to hide anyways. They never even admitted that change in that email.

I just received the same exact email. I'll give them until next week to see what exactly the design changes are, but I'm thinking I may wind up canceling before they ship.

Wrote them about only be offered the 15% off when others were offered 20% off for the delay. They said that due to my 22% discount code they could only offer me an additional 15% off without taking a loss on the stand itself. My total then comes to $39.75 per stand. I accepted the offer for now but if the design really has changed I may wind up canceling for good. This stand had so much potential!

I just heard back from Nomad as well, but they only offered me a 10% discount off my order. This is despite only getting 15% off my initial order. So in effect you got offered a discount of 37% but I was only offered 25%. As you mentioned, the discount is not that large but they should treat everyone fairly.

I have cancelled my order in any event.

Hope the Nomad dock is great and I regret my decision.

I heard back from Nomad a little earlier tonight. The e-mail I sent them this morning (after they hadn't responded within the 1 day turnaround they promised):

Your one business day is up - no reply.

Please either cancel my order or explain what you're going to do to hide the cable.

===============

Chloe sent me an e-mail back, as well as me receiving a system notification that my order has cancelled (the system notification came first).

So, those that have ordered should expect the look of the stand to be different than what was advertised.

Wow! I am not impressed. They should treat everyone fairly with this "delay discount" and offer the same total % discount. I wouldn't doubt that some were offered more than I was. They should know better and realize that people communicate problems like this and would realize this kind of different treatment is occurring. In general I am not impressed with their business practices and their decision to change the design. As others have stated they could definitely find a way to mill the stand to allow for the original hidden cable design to be a reality despite differing puck sizes!! All of this one top of a 3 week delay!

Wanted to add, for reference, that I had place an order for two stands, one silver and one space gray.

I got a reply just to say my order was cancelled. No offer of discount, simply a cancellation email.

I wouldn't have accepted the offer anyway but seems weird that they are not being consistent with this whole situation.

The dock they are selling are fakes. They have taken Nomad's pictures but the dock is not made of aluminium. The listing states that it is acrylic.

Spigen is less than half the price, and free shipping.
Plus it has a rubber backing so there is no metal rubbing on metal...

I really loved the clean appearance before but now I think it is spoiled by exposing the cable. I don't know whether to cancel or not as it is not the design I originally paid for. In fact I think it looks a bit ugly now!

I agree. When they sent out the email last week I was very concerned that the cable would end up exposed. What was a beautifully simple design really was spoiled by showing the cable. The original design also was worth of the high price tag, the new design is not. As Drew888 said, you can get the Spigen stand for a fraction of the price with protection from metal on metal contact and it ships sooner!

What really makes it look bad is that you can see just a small amount of the cable even when the watch is on the stand! I think it will look even worse in the space grey model. I'm very disappointed that an accessory with such potential has dropped the ball.

Anyone else disappointed in their email update today regarding the re-design?

The stand will reveal a portion of the cable by the charging puck

http://www.hellonomad.com/products/...RS+b4+4_27+exclude+cancelations#products-main

That really is disappointing.

Whilst the dock still looks nice it is not as nice as the original design and I don't think it can justify the premium price anymore.

I cancelled my order earlier in the week (and I am glad I did) as the total cost of the Nomad dock for me was going to cost close to $100 (delivered to Australia). I picked up a Spigen dock as a quick and cheap alternative (for $20 delivered). Whilst the dock is not as nice, it's only 1/5 of the price.

I backed these guys on Kickstarter as well https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/343524485/night-stand (but I am not sure that they are going to hit their funding goal) so will probably still need to find a more permanent dock.
