Did the tracking reflect the bump up in delivery date? Or did it just show up unexpectedly?
I ordered at 12:15 PST on pre-order night and got a 10/4-10/10 delivery. If it's going to come sooner do I receive some sort of notice or do I just keep checking my Apple account?
You should but some people have received surprise arrival of the phone on previous years.
Who knows, but got my dates moved up. It didn't hurt to try. That being said, if it comes after the date, I dont mind, it was worth a try. If it comes early I'll let you know
They change Standard Shipping to Next Day. Some reps have said that it won't matter, some people say Apple is conservative with dates so you'll likely get yours sooner than it says anyway.
If anything, it makes it come faster once it is in the states, but who knows.
Last year I ordered a 64gb 6s plus through att premier at 313am, got mid oct estimate, received it on launch day (got a shipping notification from att the Wednesday before). No such luck the year before though.
This year ordered a 128gb black 7 plus through Apple at 315am, got 10/4-10/10 estimate. Cautiously optimistic.

When I selected the phone it showed 9/16, but by the time I got to check out (it took a while because I had to key CC info) the date slipped.
Hoping it'll get bumped up but if not, I'll probably cancel and find one in stores.

Wonderful. I tried but was told that expedited shipping was not available for pre-orders.
Have called 3-4 times since friday, all say not posible to change to expedite or move dates. All go as fast as possible.
I have 3 iPhone 7+ 32 GB black on order. Ordered it four minutes after sales started. Got September 26-28.
To bad there ar no JetBlack/Black/Silver ones on release in the Netherlands. 26-28 is first batch.
Apple NL said it can come quicker but not on release.

I don't think these support reps are doing anything honestly. Apple overestimates their ship and delivery dates so you get it "ahead" of schedule they look better. Also in general it's better to give conservative estimates in case of common issues.
The reps don't have that much power considering the madness that is iPhone preorders every year and I don't see each of these people as having any power over getting limited supplies out any bit faster. I believe all they are doing is shifting to a less conservative shipping and delivery estimate that has absolutely zero effect on when someone gets their phone.
Wow really? The rep was really nice and was excited for me.Weird, who knows at this point if even they moving up my dates make a difference. Time will tell.
