really thought of selling mine

but the longer i play with it i see how different it is than an iphone.... no more need for many apps because safaris is so good, i love netflix, i like the book readers, but the availability of books is ridiculous low. none of my favorite writers is on it. how can the bookstore NOT HAVE HEARD of haruki marukami... few titles on kindle reader but still.
that glary screen is outright stupid, haven't they learned their lesson?
And god i cannot wait for that thing to be jailbroken and i can background apps and have sbsettings running.
I have had quite a few plane journeys in the last week, one with wifi, and that brought a big smile on my face, 11 hours of travelling and juice all the way...
I am running myfi on my iphone, but i can se me wanting 3g eventually, i will get that with the new generation.
ultimately it will be a gamechanger this machine, if you see already how many people just dont use their mbp's or uiphones anymore.... i do truely believe it is the future of mobile computing

It's fantastic as a companion to a full OS laptop. I keep my laptop (2007 Macbook Pro) in "desktop" mode hooked up to a monitor and use the iPad for wandering. Perfect for my needs.

Big thumbs up. The fact that I'm still here spamming these forums is quite unusual (I'm generally not a big forum poster unless I have a very specific question). Stupid thing and I are attached at the hip now when I'm home. I'm very curious to see when this phase will end, or if it will. Even worse, if I have nothing else going on I will use the iPad to web surf for information about the iPad. Forums and app sites and such.

ABSOLUTELY YAY, SJ is a frickin' genius.

But admit it, we saw the potential when Apple first announced a "tablet" device way back. ;)

If I didn't care so much about a career in academia I'd be an analyst and just completely clean up. I'd be a friggin sage.

Yay.

It's the new form factor for computers.

Sure the first one is limited but I expect to be running full OS X on something this size in a few short years.

Ugh. I know what you mean. It's so nice to use, I find myself in Macrumors/iPad quite a bit too for a news fix.

Yeah, I'm as excited by the form-factor paradigm shift as anything.

(I'm one of those who muddled through the 2003 Windows XP Tablet era. Hopefully Wacom partners with someone again for the artsy types, at least.)

Yay

Definite Yay!

I liked my iPad soooo much that I returned it yesterday.

I found myself taking it with me almost everywhere and a lot of times wifi wasn't available. For example, I took my son to an orthodontist appointment that lasted 45 minutes or more and I took out my iPad and no wifi. All I could think was "Damn, I'm hooked already!".

Anyway I can't wait to pick up my 3G as soon as it's released.

YAY, bought at Best Buy Saturday afternoon 32GB
No dead pixels, no WiFi problems...life is good in magic land :apple:

Thumbs up.

It's still $500 minimum... but, thumbs up.
I think Apple should have priced them at $399, $499 and $599 instead. With $40b in the bank, Apple could be more aggressive on pricing.

It's a Yay for me! I first was a bit disappointed after Steve Jobs introduced this new device a couple of months back, and I believe many of you were as well.
But dang it! After I actually got to experience this thing I just love it!
It can only get even better from here on.
Great job Apple!!!

Ditto

I just got mine finally (I am stationed in japan) and i love it. I am ordering another one for my wife. I was really not impressed until i got to use it.

Ps i am writing this on my iPad

Yeah

I absolutely love it. No, it will not replace my laptop but that's not what I got it for.

No wi-fi issues, everything has worked perfectly for a week now...

I love mine.. even with the Wifi issues. I know I have to prepare to resell it on Ebay very soon before the 3G one comes out. But I really have been putting it off!

One thing I think would be great to have in the future is the ability to have multiple user accounts. Obviously this will be something that would have to happen in the future as currently the hard drives wouldn't be able to support it very well.
