Yep, that'll work. I'm probably selling my 2G next week, I'm upgrading to the 3G. My 2G is 6 months old, got a small scratch on the screen though you only notice it when the phone is off and a few scuffs around the edge and on back (It's never been in a case basically). Phone has always worked great though, just upgraded to latest software 2.1 which is much better than 2.0.

It depends on what you mean by 2g iPhone. If you mean a 2nd Generation iPhone (i.e. one with 3G connectivity) then I cannot be certain but it should work from what I've seen. If you mean a 1st Generation iPhone (i.e. one with only 2G+EDGE connectivity) then definitely. The latter is pretty much the situation I am in and it works fine. I have an original iPhone and a Simplicity contract which I've had for quite a while now (last upgraded my handset about three or four years ago) and with firmware 2.x all I've needed to do is install it and it has worked. I have Jailbroken my iPhone for extra Apps etc. but this was completely optional, the standard Apple firmware has worked fine in the past (before Pwnage tool was updated).

so yeah i am planning on buying this type of iphone and putting in a 02 simplicity simcard with the free web bolt on.

this will work fine with all iphone updates... and wont need to be unlocked jailbroken or anything.

i read some where that the sim card has to be a 3g capable sim card?? i have one of these but i was confused as the old iphone is not 3g..

any way as far as i understand it will work all fine an o2 simplicity with old iphone with the web bolt on..

this will enable me to do all webbrowsing and downloads apart from visual voicemail??

Went straight from 1.1.4 unlocked, jailbreaked with ziphone using o2 pay and go, plugged into itunes 8 and went up to firmware 2.1 with no modifcations all activated and personal data preserved
