Watched whole event after dinner, first thing I did was read this entire thread :D

What a GREAT event!!

It really was pretty good. Lots of surprise products, like the Home Max. And did not see that DXO score coming. I know DXO isn't the be all end all, but that's a seriously impressive score. Plus the continuation of Photos backups and now 3 years of software support instead of 2 (both security patches and OS upgrades).

Did I hear correctly that the front camera is the same as the back camera, or did I imagine that?

Pixelbook have the same two tone design on the back as the phones?

I actually really like this look for the Pixelbook. Check out Verge's video impressions, it looks beautiful!

It has Portrait Mode on front and back, it's not the same camera though.

The Pixelbook looks amazing. In my attempt to get my 12.9 iPad Pro to replace my 11" MBA+iPad Mini 4, I discovered that chromebooks (I have been doing extensive testing with an Acer R11) in many respects do a better job for my tasks (but not all)... added benefit of remotely connecting to my iMac when I need to do macOS things.

The Pixelbook is priced about $200-300 too high IMO. I had been holding off to see what "top tier" chromebook I'd buy but it seems like the Samsung Chromebook Plus is at the top of the list for now. (unless the pixelbook gets discounted)

Agree. The price is the greatest barrier for me.

Also, I really want the Max -- I don't even know why -- but the price is a barrier there, too.

Kinda ironic some complaining about the price on an Apple forum.

IMO, Pixel 2 XL is too expensive for what it is. The 128gb version, is basically Note 8 price. But I actually love the design, especially the white version.

The Google Home Mini is a must have for me.

Impressed with the Google Home Max.

The new Pixel book is drool worthy. Lack of SD slot was a slight letdown.

Google Clips had my interest, until I seen the price. Love the concept though.

I wish Google Pixel Buds was completely wireless. I wonder how good the language translation works.

Love the way Google is going with product integration.

Even with the front firing dual speakers, did the Pixel 2's bezels still have to be that big? How did they achieve it on the 2XL?

AND you get a fast-charging capable charger included IN THE BOX.

Now what company is it that makes you purchase a separate charger for that feature? Their name escapes me. ;)

I think the Pixel 2 models are better than both the iPhone 8 models. The software is what wins me over. Not to mention the AI and Google services, including an upgraded three years of OS updates.

It's just missing one thing: wireless charging, the Moby Dick-feature of Pixel devices.

And yeah, really lousy of Apple to do that with the fast charger.

Serious question: how come no Pixel watch?

Considering they just got a real phone development team (if it gets approved) I think they have bigger fish to fry. I think they 2018 will be the earliest that we see a watch, the big goal for 2018 will be a completely redesigned pixel. Once that is done I think they will start on a watch.
