Overall, pretty impressed with out the Google Ecosystem is fleshing out. There are still some holes but the integration across devices is really shaping up well.

Not a single mention of Android TV though is concerning. I like casting alot and appreciate the simplicity of using Chromecasts but my family still prefers having a dedicated set top box with remote, as do I. I really like my Nvidia Shield TV but it has the weakest support of all the platforms (Amazon, Apple, Roku) and fear it’s going to just die on the vine like many Google’s other ambitions.

Android Wear is also languishing badly and it’s looking more and more like Google is just going to let it also die.

Those are 2 big areas of my ecosystem than need better support from Google if I’m ever going to transition away from Apple.

Wait...no wireless charging? I don't care that much but damn, Google. If Apple has that feature, it means your stuff is reeeeeeeaaaally lagging.

I am fine without it. Not interested in the extra heat on my batteries, and slower charging rates.

Hopefully they have solid battery cells in these devices though! The amount of devices (including Apple) with battery issues is alarming.

The Google Assistant on that phone alone made me want it over the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. That's what I call AI.I also don't think the iPhone X is going to beat this camera.

Wow, to echo what @epicrayban said earlier -- the store flat-out reads "Unavailable" now on every model and configuration. Either there was massive demand, or very little supply.

I'm thinking it's the latter. What a shame.

Edit: Not anymore. The store was just bugged for me.

This is one heck of a phone and I want to see it succeed in the market. I guess we'll have a better idea come this time next year, when we know what a year's worth of sales numbers looks like.

Glad I managed to get my preorder in. I wanted an OG Pixel last year and they were out of stock so long that I never got one -- ended up purchasing a used Nexus 6P off of eBay.

Also needs a proper tablet and not a Chromebook laptop functioning as a tablet like the Surface.

i think they’re having some problems with the store. My page goes from showing EVERYTHING unavailable to just certain items, then back to everything unavailable. Good way to keep me from the impulse buy though. :D
[doublepost=1507140871][/doublepost]Just checked out the specs for both phones. I see that the camera tops out at 4k at 30fps and slow motion at 720p at 240fps vs 4K 60fps and 1080p 240fps respectively on the new iPhones. This functionality certainly doesn’t mean everything in regards to performance but it is one area that is presently exclusive to the iPhone 8/X models, if it matters to you.

Google needs to start with proper tablet SUPPORT on Android before they even think about an iPad competing tablet. The hardware could be phenominal but the tablet experience is still far inferior.

My husband got us a black 2 XL to share. We are going to see what pure Android is like. I tried the store and couldn't get anything to go through at all. Husband tried way after me and got the black 2 XL somehow. I liked the small Pixels, too. I didn't mind the bezels. If I could have had one of my own I would have liked the black and white one with the red switch.

Don't ask me how we are going to share a phone. We just do. I'll test the camera stills and video and he will test everything else like car connectivity and integration with other stuff in the house since he is the "power user". We decided to keep our iPhone 7 Pluses and stick with iOS so it's just not necessary to get us each an android.

I haven't watched the video for that stuff yet, I shall.

Again, I don't care about wireless charging that much. It just seems like such a slam dunk now but whatever. I got so many USB C chargers it ain't no thing.

I just got a text from my husband. He managed to snag a black and white Pixel 2 XL for late November delivery. We will figure out what we really want to do when he gets home. He just wanted us in some sort of queue before they were all gone.

Anyway if you can't get through keep trying.
