You have the exact set up that I am interested in. Looks sweet. I thought I wanted the wireless keyboard and mouse for the same sort of reasons you mentioned, but I'm just not sure. May go wired first, and maybe switch to wireless later. Still saving money up, so I have plenty of time to change my mind over and over again. Anyway, enjoy your new toy.

One quick question on the wireless KB & mouse. My computer desk has a shelf for the keyboard and mouse that slides under the desktop so it is a few inches below the desktop. Is that likely to be a problem? Don't know if the keyboard and mouse need line of sight to the monitor or not.

The Keyboard and Mouse both work for me when I'm sitting on my bed and that's about 3 meters away from the iMac so I don't think them being on a different level on your cabinet will have any effect. Also, you'll save quite a bit getting the wireless pack as a build to order option.

Super stoked.:D :D 2' imac just arrived. BTO 2Gb ram and 7600GT gpu....... SUPER BUMMED... Computer is DOA!!! Hard drive is either bad or disconnected. Now I have to wait for the return shipping labels and bring it to FedEx....:mad: :mad: :( :(

Got my 20" imac a week ago. Nothing upgraded except for the wireless mouse and keyboard, but hey, when you're 17 years old cash isn't easy to come up with.

just sold my ibook 14" g4 1.33 for one. hope to have enough round newyear to get a 20"
 
I ordered a 20'' imac with 2GB RAM and it shipped yesterday. :D Hope it comes next wed (or earlier) so I'll have time to set it up and play with it all day :p

Nope. The screen doesn't flash. I'm guessing there's something wrong with your monitor. If the display was too slow to refresh then you might start to see those black and white lines get out of sync and it'd switch from black to white quickly. My guess is that you thus have a faulty monitor in your iMac.
 
I ordered my 24" iMac (2Gb RAM, wireless keyboard and mouse) and it should be with me tomorrow, bearing in mind this is an upgrade from my 12" Powerbook 1Ghz 768Mb Ram, should I expect and speed difference or size difference? hehe!!:p
 
Got mine !!! 24" 7600GT 2 Gigs

I didnt have to wait 6 to 8 weeks!

after my trip to china i could collect my imac 24"
immediatly

no dead pixels, no dark corners,

only thing is I have a low signal on my airport connection, any suggentions

Ordered a 24" iMac in my signature and it is coming this thursday according to TNT - can't wait!
Going from a Powerbook G4, last rev, that is starting to really piss me off with its slowness so it will definately be an upgrade.

24inch Apple iMac

I ordered a refurbished one on October 11, 2006 and the estimated ship date is November 1, 2006 and I should receive it around November 8, 2006! A long wait but I guess when it comes it will been worth it. I paid 1,699.00 plus whatever the tax is. Waiting....waiting....and more waiting....*sigh*

Just got my 24" iMac!! It is the best computer I have ever had. I am SO happy I switched. I don't think I have any noise issues, and if I do, it is so much quieter than my last computer that I don't notice!
 
My 24" shipped a day early! I ordered it Monday, it shipped today (Thursday) - and it's estimated delivery from Shanghai is 3 days early (tuesday)!!! Very happy! :cool: :) :D
 
i finally recieved my imac today :D i hope this computer can last me at leaset 2 years :p now, iam looking forward to the new c2d macbooks :D
 
you lucky bastards... I made a reservation for a 24 Incher on the 16th of September and I'm still waiting for them to arrive at the store.. I'm number 2 on the reservation list :eek:
Geez, Portugal REALLY is a third world country :cool:

The wait is killing me, on top of that I have to see you all bragging about how great your iMacs are and how fast it was for them to arrive.. lol, sorry, I'm in terrible pain :)

PS - When mine arrives I'll post 20.278 pics!!! muahahah!! :D
