Hello,
I have been around for so long I forgot when I first discovered the MacRumors Forums. Most of the time I landed here when doing reSEARCH on a Mac OS X Problem (or related Software). But I had NO idea that MRF (#meta: what is the correct abbreviation for MacRumors Forums?) has been around as long as I have online experiences.
#awesome

My brain works differently than the ones from my heroes (e.g. @rthpjm @tiamo @tsialex @mikeboss @Mr. Zarniwoop @IndioX @Macschrauber) who can recall abstract code and live inside Terminal and even have set up different Shell environments.
In contrast I am happy doing some basic commands
Bash:
sudo ditto -X
where I can drag my source (and target) folder from Finder and drop it in Terminal. ;-)

back to topic:
First I need to learn how to master Forum tricks like Quoting more than one Quote in a single post. As innovaTutor I am used to play around and test every Feature when I am new on a Platform (it has been a long time I was active on any online Forum. MacUser.de comes to mind).
I want to understand all features of this forum software itself, so I wont look like an amateur only because I have the "newbie" Label. Therefore I need a safe place where I can testDrive the different options one has on this Forum (that's my style of learning).

Where can I do this?

Hello from the Netherlands. Been reading MacRumors a few years now.

First Apple product that was made for me was the Ipod Classic, men, I couldnt live without it from the moment I picked it up. Still have it, though I now use the touch-version.
Second was the Ipad. I take it everywhere (in the house that is)
Those are my winners till now.

Second phone was an Iphone 5 when it came out, and from then on Iphones, now on the 11.
Looking forward to new products (still undecided on the watch), always awaiting the Apple events that show here at 19.00 hr., for a nice tv-evening.

Hello from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (and in some months from Catalonia, Spain), been reading MacRumors for years and just now joined for some fun. I am a professional UI/UX Designer now (previously was a Frontend Web Dev).

I work exclusively in an Apple iOS/macOS environment since 2010, with an iPhone, iPad Pro, Watch and a MacBook Pro, and never looked back. Oh, and forgot to mention a 1st gen iPod Nano, that I like to carry with me whenever I have to leave home for a long time, so I can listen to my favorite tunes.

This year, with the pandemic going on, I put more time on my 2nd hobby, retrocomputing. My 1st hobby is (or was, before pandemic) entering in go-karting amateur tournaments since I am a motorsport fan too.

I love to mess with emulators and currently I do some stuff playing with UTM (QEMU GUI) and sometimes DOSBox and PCem. For now I have three VMs: W98SE, WFW311 and the most interesting one, a PPC macOS 9.2.2 VM.

I have never used macOS 9 in a real PPC Mac, though I think I did use a PPC G3 Mac briefly in a lab from my university nearly 17 years ago. I think it was OS X Tiger or Panther? Not sure, I remember it had the Aqua theme. Anyway, last year I was attracted by how simple and good macOS 9 was, and added it to my emulators fun.

Been following MacRumors for years and have gotten great advice from the forums. I have somehow made it this long without joining the MR Community. Glad I finally did!

Hello,
I'm French, disabled in wheelchair cause a car'accident when I was 21.
Since, I've lost my balance, dexterity Manuel and gripping, my half body is disabled.
My memory still sucks from this.
Before, in first time, a French forum need me (but my brain trauma to annoy they).

I hope that my mood changes which are accentuated by my brain trauma will not prevent me from finding out all about the Apple technology and innovations. Because Its ease of use makes my life easier. I love it !

Apple are changed my life.
I need Anglo-saxon mentality, since 2011 after Discovery of Apple 2017, since I'm addicted. LOVE
Very thanks you for your welcoming !

Apologize by advance. I would like to help me I forget always.
My working area

I always need somebody cause my brain trauma (striocerebellar tremor), so tell me if I can participate or no on your pictures' thread ? I would't to do mistakes.

Do you accept me ? Thanks you

My Mini (512, 16) was delivered today & I am way lost!! Never used one of these before.
I have wires & cables everywhere and it has taken me all day to figure out how to transfer
2tb worth of files from my saved disk (formatted XFAT) to a new, 10TB raid 1 box for the Mac.

IMG_1458.jpeg

It turns out that a new disk reader that I had purchased because it would be "faster" didn't work at all.
My LG Ultrawide is working great and my old, Logitech BT keyboard & mouse work fine with the dongle.

Didn't eat all day as I have been feverishly trying to get operational.

hi all,
greetings from Romania!.... :apple:;)
I found today this forum searching for the external display issue (not working) when MacBook Air M1 wake up from sleep.
years ago I started my :apple: journey with iPhoneX - now 12 Pro Max.
I loved my first MacBook Air 2017 i5-5350U - sold last year as was not able to play my h.265 GoPro videos (due to intel generation 5).
MacBook Air 2020 i3-1000ng - was fine till I read the M1 specs.
now MacBook Air M1 (with 7 GPU).

I love Apple integration (iPhone - Mac - iCloud).

have a good one! 👍

Looking at the beginning of this thread takes me back. I've been here for a while. Apple has changed a lot...and so has my password manager, so a new account it is.

Hi everyone!
I’ve been a Mac user since the late 80’s and have always loved checking on the latest rumors here. Never really participated in forums though. Happy to join in.

Hi everyone, I've been a Mac Rumours reader for many years and after a short time lurking on the forums I've decided to join what seems to be an amazing group of users.

I've been using the Mac most of my life and I'm now fully in the Apple eco-system. I use Apple products for work and play and I'm attempting to drag my family along with me :)
